Our client is a well established and high growth Semiconductor manufacturer who are looking to grow their operations in Leuven. As a result they are looking for an experienced SOI Analog Design Engineer to join the team.
Responsibilities
- Technical design role for multiple components in the Switch design and other RF SOI building blocks. You will be responsible for designing low to high power RF front-end RFIC circuits (including LNAs, RF switches, RF couplers, RF filters, high-power switches for antenna tuner, passive components, control interfaces, etc.) and their module integration.
- Guide product development through critical stages including concept/feasibility, development, preproduction, qualification, and production
- Baseband/IF/RF circuit design using linear and nonlinear models and 2.5D and 3D electromagnetic simulators
- RF test board design, test, characterization, and data analysis
- As a Staff design engineer, you will mentor team members in design concepts and best practices
- Will work as part of a IC Design team from concept to design and evaluation, and release to production.
Qualifications
- PhD or master’s degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or similar
- The ideal candidate has 5+ years of analog/RF experience, with 3+ years in RF SOI design
- Deep understanding of RF building blocks such as RF switch, LNAs, etc.
- Expert understanding of microwave design methodologies comprising: S-parameters, power, efficiency, source/load pull, noise figure, linearity and intermodulation distortion
- Experience in design and productization of RF switch in a SOI technology
- Knowledge of different communication standards (3GPP, IEEE…), carrier specifications and the ability to translate system requirements into circuit requirements in collaboration with system engineers
- Understanding of RF transceiver architectures and trade-offs
- Expert understanding of transistor small and large signal behavioural characteristics
- Proficient using microwave and EM simulation tools such as ADS, MWO, SONNET, EMX, CST, HFSS, or Momentum/EMPro
- Experience in silicon characterization and debug
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and to present complex technical topics to a multi-level audience
