Donkey Republic will start in May 2022 in the greater Antwerp transport region and is looking for bicycle enthusiasts to strengthen our operational team.

Erdem, who grew up in Istanbul, saw how bicycles are the key to more liveable cities, the environment and health." One of the founders of Donkey Republic, he saw in Copenhagen in 2012 how a number of friends from different cities shared bicycles with the location and sent the combination lock code via SMS. He thought there should be an easier way. The start was funded with a Kickstarter. Today, Donkey Republic is active in more than 70 European cities with 17,000 bicycles. The goal is still there: more cyclists with fewer bicycles. We are looking for some fifteen (15) employees to support the operation and maintenance of the bicycles. You will become part of a growing team of bicycle enthusiasts: Donkey ’Boosters’.*

A typical day:
You start with the shift of 06:00 or 14:00 from one of our workshops in Antwerp North (Luchtbal) or Antwerp South (Kiel / Hoboken), and drive off with the delivery van (Sprinter or similar), with charged batteries and 4 roadworthy e-bikes (weighing about 25 to 30 kg each). With the help of our app you will find your way, and perform the necessary tasks.
Activities:

  • Redistribute bicycles
  • Replacing batteries of e-bikes bicycles, mainly on the street
  • Visually check bicycles for damage / defects
  • Pick up / drop off bicycles on the street from / to the workshop for maintenance or repair

What we expect

  • You are in possession of a driving license B;
  • Good mindset;

  • You are a careful driver;
  • You like to work independently, mainly outside, but also enjoy working in a team;
  • Working in shifts / shifts suits you;
  • You live in the greater Antwerp region;
