Position Summary:

As a Category Manager, you will support the business to lead and develop the category to deliver long term category growth and profitably increase market shares. You will be part of the Belgian Cereals team and will report directly to the Business Manager. We offer exciting challenges in sales and marketing as well as the opportunity to work with strong international brands such as LION, NESQUIK, KIT KAT, FITNESS.

The role is based in our office in Brussels.

Your responsibilities:

  • Create the yearly strategic plan and recommend tailored category plan in line with overall market strategy;
  • Lead the commercial plan process to ensure multifunctional input and alignment to the key growth opportunities and action plans at customer level;
  • Ensure that strategies and plans are implemented at retailer level which deliver category growth based on consumer, shopper and customer insights;
  • Establish winning commercial propositions and support the development of customer and field sales plans;
  • Establish clear promotional strategy based on shopper understanding, current market knowledge and business strategy, and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of our trade investments;
  • Turn Shopper Insight into actionable in-store solutions;
  • Continuously monitor of business results within the relevant segment by using both internal and external market data, driving related action and including key stakeholders;
  • Drive and lead Strategic revenue management projects and initiative to positively contribute to our growth and margin improvements.

What will make you successful:

  • You have at least 3-5 years of experience in sales (FMCG)
  • You have a validated commercial and category management experience where you have demonstrated commercial acumen & excel in customer management. You have a record of success in a customer facing role
  • You are comfortable with complexity and multi-tasking
  • You have a strong personal drive with a positive can-do attitude
  • You are pragmatic with get things done attitude (entrepreneurial mindset)
  • Since the role is cross functional, your co-operation and team skills are critical to get your colleagues on board
  • You are courageous & curious
  • You have an open & assertive communication skills (incl language skills: English, French and/or Dutch are a must)
  • You enjoy turning numbers into stories and action plans
