A little bit about Edgard & Cooper:

Once upon a time, our founders wanted to feed their dogs - Edgard and Cooper – pet food they could feel good about. The kind of food that was as good for the planet as it was for their pets. But they couldn’t find anything that was quite right. So….to cut a long story short, they decided to make their own!

Today, 5 years later, Edgard & Cooper has sold over 10 million bags of food, hired over 150 people across Europe and made lots and lots of dogs & cats (and their owners) feel good!

We are looking for a strategist that has experience in converting consumers efficiently into a FMCG brand. Someone that lives by crunching numbers, loves setting up trials and gets a kick of taking action. A social genius that knows how to build strong relationships with shops by creating continuous win-win situations.

First and foremost, you will delve into the most mature market within Edgard & Cooper: Belgium. Once you know the Belgian market inside-out and have optimized all actual processes & flows that you think are currently not that optimal, you will become responsible for the Nordics – amazing, right!? A market with enormous growth potential and a need for focus and push. That is why you will also leave the rainy Belgian country here and there to discover other beautiful places in the field of Category Management: going abroad now and then is therefore no problem for you.

What will be in your bowl? ????

Category Management, that doesn’t need so much explanation, does it? Anyhow, here is what we see a Category Manager doing at Edgard & Cooper:


  • Responsible for tracking & reviewing the 4P strategy for our NPD & EPD across the portfolio, balancing shopper dynamics with category positioning and financial KPIs.

  • Recommend and implement clear in-store guidelines based on shopper insights coming from shop experiments and existing market knowledge.

  • Deliver the retail activation strategy, managing the national calendar of promotions and product events.

  • Develop and execute trade actions including pricing, sales estimates, operations liaison and POS development.

  • Review product ranges based on sales data & shopper insights and align with sales for the right mix.

  • We’re a start-up, you’re a Category Manager - life is full of surprises, so we might throw in some other commercial and fun stuff to do.

What skills & tricks should you bring? ????


  • You master trade & shopper/category management thanks to your min of 3Y experience.

  • A commercial mindset is needed, you are able to think in terms of the customer journey.

  • Strong analytical skills and excellent knowledge of Excel. Having worked with PowerBi, Nielsen, GFK or other data-driven tools is a must.

  • We’re an international company, you need to be great with English, Dutch & French.

  • Be cool, but also be warm
