Join us and make a difference.The Compensation COE (Center of Excellence) designs competitive compensation programs to attract and retain employees, drive performance results and sets policies and structures around a variety of compensation types, including base pay, short-term incentives, long-term incentive and deferred compensation. The Compensation Lead is responsible for managing an integrated compensation strategy for the countries/markets in scope. This role will act in active collaboration with HR Business Partners and Capability Centers to ensure the teams have information and processes in place to execute and will report to the EMEA Compensation Director.Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy | Provides input to the development of integrated compensation strategy, coordinates resources across specialty areas and People Services teams, and supports effective outcomes in active collaboration with HRBPs. Key partner on simplification and/or process improvement projects.
  • Compensation Programs | Provides input and understands impact of business challenges on compensation programs and initiatives, considering impact across markets in scope. Assists in preparing for Works Council/Union negotiations. Leads assigned processes related to the enterprise-wide annual compensation planning cycle.
  • Benchmarking | Ensures competitive compensation positioning versus external benchmarking. Understand emerging trends in compensation programs and recommends new initiatives / adjustments to plan designs as appropriate. Ensures participation in appropriate external surveys.
  • Job Architecture | Validates and interprets key differentiating criteria to assess the job profile to assign to critical and key roles aligned with business and people strategy. Market pricing analysis and activities. Oversees job pricings and job leveling including benchmarking and banding validation and ensures alignment with the global job catalogue.
  • Governance and Compliance | Leads compliance initiatives in key areas such a minimum wage, pay equity and other statutory or local legally mandated requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management | Builds relationships with local leaders and partners within COE and PS and local HRBP.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in Compensation and/or Total Rewards that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5-7 years of experience).
  • Strong operational and execution ability and expertise. Agility in prioritizing and navigating competing demands and navigating the ambiguity of a constantly evolving complex organization.
  • Strong attention to detail – critical eye for data accuracy and excellent analytical skills and proficiency in developing detailed analysis, program calculations, and data modeling.
  • Ability to synthesize large data sets into identifiable and actionable compensation outcomes and influence partners end leaders on those recommendations.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the (Bio)pharma business and related strategic issues.
  • Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively communicate and interact with internal and external clients, including building strong external relationships for market insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, matrix and cross-functional environment with multiple priorities.
  • Fluent in English and a preferably a second language (French/German/Italian/Spanish)
