Compliance AML Officer

Compliance is an independent control function whose mission is to identify and monitor the compliance risks of certain activities, to propose measures to control these risks and to report on them.

The AML Officer works within the AML team, which reports to the Head of AML. His/her main mission is to assist the Head of AML by monitoring and reporting on clients and transactions and by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations, procedures and KPI’s. The AML Officer has experience in compliance, control, operational audit and/or risk management, has an analytical and critical mind and can express himself/herself correctly in the two national languages. Description

• Perform Anti-Money Laundering, Know Your Customer and Sanctions & Embargoes checks on new and existing customers;
• Notify regulatory authorities of atypical activities/transactions;
• Handle monitoring or non-compliance alerts on inbound and outbound transactions;
• Close accounts and manage files;
• Provide direct support to the Head of AML, assisting him in relations with internal and external auditors as well as with regulators for AML matters;
• Contribute to the periodic update and implementation of AML/KYC policies, procedures and standards;

Participate in new AML related projects:

• Process DLU files;
• Analysis of Politically Exposed Persons clients;
• Implement new monitoring tool;
• KYC-recertification;
• Participate in the development of CMP tests and AML reporting;
• Archiving of client files and advice.

Profile

• You have at least a bachelor degree (higher education or university) or you have relevant, convincing and proven experience in a compliance department of another financial institution;
• You have experience in compliance, control, operational audit and/or risk management;
• You are fluent in both national languages (spoken and written) and have at least a good knowledge of English;
• You are a very good team player;
• You have very good analytical skills and you are precise;
• You have a critical mind and you are resistant to stress;
• You have integrity and are able to handle confidential data;
• You are familiar with MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).
