As the Country controller for ABB in the Benelux you will play a key role coordinating and preparing the statutory financial statements for the legal entities in the Benelux.

You are the business partner for the Country Finance Director across the different local functions in the Benelux and lead local critical projects. You will closely cooperate with our controllers from the Center of Excellence (CoE) in India.

You are responsible to support the Country Finance director with all applicable local fiduciary finance requirements overseeing compliance with local statutory GAAP, local reporting, cost control, cost estimates and budget, internal controls, legal and tax requirements with support provided by our global business services,

Your responsibilities

• Preparation of statutory financial reports for the legal entities in the Benelux.
• Coordinate our ABB finance functions, internal stakeholders and our external advisors and external auditors on both USGAAP and local GAAP internal and external audit deliverables.
• Lead and support local and ABB Group projects like M&A, carve outs, etc. for Benelux countries.
• Support Country Finance Director Benelux on local fiduciary country specific requirements.
• In cooperation with the CoE support financial reporting, budgeting & forecasting for functions.
• Supporting implementation of standardized processes and tools across business and functions..
• Validating the accuracy of financial data and reports by performing reconciliations and reviews.
• Provide insights to management by assembling data, prepare reports and make presentations.
• Performing controls, maintain audit trail and documentation for future audits and reviews.
• Facilitating the dissemination of knowledge and best practices within the Finance community.

Your background

• 4 -10 years of experience in an accounting or similar role. Strong understanding of GAAP..
• Experience with ERP accounting systems and financial reporting.
• Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to multitask. Problem solving skills.
• Cultural sensitivity, pro-active attitude and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Drive to work on improvements in complex environment with multiple cross country stakeholders.
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business.
• Good knowledge of Dutch and English (French is a plus).
