Job Purpose and Impact

Are you a hardworking and agile individual looking for a meaningful career in engineering? We are looking for an Associate application specialist to focus on innovation and product development within our ingredient business, with an emphasis on food applications. You will support new product development initiatives within Cargill’s ingredient portfolio. You will focus on innovation to help move ingredients from concept to commercialization while collaborating with other technical teams. As flexibility allows, you will be contributing to additional applications teams projects as well as short-term projects.

Key Accountabilities
  • Accountable for setting up and conducting application trials to support projects (bench or pilot) – This include providing accurate data measured during & after the trials
  • Maintain equipment’s and lab infrastructure in optimal working conditions include compliance with food safety, EHS and maintenance regulations
  • Write detailed and well-structured technical/scientific reports on the outcome of the practical work done.
  • Participate in preparation of scientific reports or datasheets detailing the organization’s products and their applications
  • Assists with product demonstrations and serves as the domain expert during meetings with prospective customers
  • Support the creation of technical presentations for customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience in lab and pilot application processes in convenience food
  • Skill & competencies to work with bigger process equipment (pilot scale)
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Knowledge and experience in analytical methods (chemical & physical methods) and particularly in rheology with focus on starch applications in convenience food
  • Experience in working with formulations and recipes
  • Experience in writing reports and preparing presentations
  • Critical mindset when executing trials
  • Work accurately and respecting deadlines
  • Fluent in English
