Key areas of responsibility We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Associate Scientist in our Oncology Discovery division. The successful candidate will join an interactive research group evaluating novel cancer therapeutic targets for solid tumor malignancies. Proactively perform and troubleshoot decision-making experiments to support Oncology Discovery research programs. Application of diverse expertise in cellular and molecular biology (e.g. cell/organoid culture, compound screening, FACS, ELISA, western blotting, qRT-PCR, cell transfections & transductions). Search, evaluate and adopt the latest methodologies to advance projects. Strong organizational skills including the ability to independently work on several (small and large molecule drug discovery) projects simultaneously. Maintain detailed and organized experimental records and stay compliant on all relevant internal and external training requirements. Ability to effectively communicate (written and oral presentations) and report/discuss data and conclusions. Efficiently work both as an individual contributor and a (global) team player. Qualifications A minimum of a BS Degree with 1 to 3 years’ laboratory-based experience in industry/biotech or an academic setting is required. Experience with cell culture and compound testing is required. Experience in design and interpretation of cell-based assays/experiments to interrogate questions in drug discovery/oncology is preferred. Experience with tumor biology, tissue processing, and subsequent analysis (by flow cytometry, western blotting) is preferred. Excellent communication & interpersonal skills are essential including interfacing with group leaders, key stakeholders and lab managers. Are you ready to make an impact?
