The Business Development Manager, will foster and grow the company’s business development activities and revenue from Plant Based Initiatives across Meat and Dairy Alternative Categories through developing existing customer relationships and building connectivity with new customers. In this role, you will be responsible for developing relevant value propositions and implementing an EU focused business plan that maximizes our FIBI growth potential across the region. You will ensure our ‘complete’ Cargill offering is well positioned, and aligned internally and externally, build and nurture relationships with critical customer targets to facilitate partnerships across procurement, marketing and research and development stakeholders. You will participate in regional and global commercial activities and guide R&D activities to ensure FIBI (Food Ingredients & Bio-Industrial) reach our objectives and revenue goals.
Key Accountabilities
- Create and implement EU business development strategies for Meat and Dairy Alternative that include annual business development plans, objectives and revenue goals together with the category leads
- Manage multiple stakeholder networks to ensure business objectives are known, understood and complied to
- Develop the FIBI offering model (based on the 7 Ps) to ensure we evolve from being a product supplier into a solutions supplier with differentiated value propositions in these key markets
- Work closely with R&D and Product Lines to deliver complete market propositions for identified set of customers
- Work closely with the account managers and distributors to understand business requirements and market needs to support them when needed.
- Identify new business opportunities by effective lead / prospect management and convert in repeat business
- Work with business marketing, commercial, strategic marketing and R&D groups to track market development activities and customer needs, share the feedback with the relevant stakeholders and translate insights into business strategy to capture commercial sales.
- Measure performance to meet objectives, undertaking remedial action where appropriate.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision and transparent communication, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Over 6 years of relevant experience in a similar role in Food or Food ingredient companies
- Passion about alternative proteins, nutrition and health with strong technical backbone
- Technical/product development experience in food is plus
- Strong leadership, self-motivated entrepreneurial mindset with sharp business acumen
- Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Effectively build formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside the organization.
- Hold self and others accountable to meet commitments.
- Maneuver comfortably through complex policy, process and people related organizational dynamics
- Passion for working and interacting directly with customers, willingness to visit customers
