Job Purpose and Impact

The Cargill Bioindustrial (CBI) group recognizes the increasing commercial and consumer demand for renewable and sustainable products along with answering the regulatory and consumer needs to replace petroleum-based products. With the increasing viability of bio-based alternatives, Cargill Bioindustrial leverages more than 60 years’ experience in agriculture-based chemistry for industrial applications.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing new business opportunities within our Performance Technologies market space via direct customer contact as well as training and support of sales representatives across EMEA. In this role, you will focus on business development for the Rewitec technology in EMEA, working closely with the European sales team and the Business Development Managers in other regions. You will identify and develop opportunities for both existing and new products in new applications in conjunction with sales teams in the region. Also, you will work closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to gather future requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Translate customer needs into business strategy to capture commercial sales.
  • Recognize and pursue new market segments and opportunities for business development, calculating return and investment.
  • Monitor market development activities to align with company business goals.
  • Prioritize market segment development activities.
  • Promote product market recognition with technical knowledge and market research or intelligence.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to management or technical teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience and/or technical service experience within the mechanical engineering industry
  • Excellent English skills (spoken and written)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in combined technical sales, marketing and business development functions.
  • Strong commercial awareness and drive to improve results
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork and organisational skills
  • Self-starter, able to work autonomously with excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Experience with managing multi-disciplinary projects in the Mechanical Engineering industry – experience with mechanical drive applications.
  • Knowledge of at least one additional European language, ideally German, French or Spanish
