Description

At Client, we have had a SAS data and analytics environment for years in which a number of business domains can do self-service analytics. Since 2023, Client has been building a hybrid data and information landscape that is a combination of an SAP-oriented data platform (BW and HANA systems) and a data platform on a Microsoft Azure Cloud environment, with Power BI as a reporting tool on top of that. Various sources and applications are made accessible to these platforms, built up in different data and information layers, and integrated with each other to build (advanced) analytics use cases and reporting on them. Parallel to the construction of this new data landscape, the existing SAS environment is being migrated to it.

In addition, a domain-oriented organization of data teams has been set up in the past period in which the data and BI specialists work on the data and information products of the specific domain.

To assist in the ongoing SAS migration and to help build the new data and reporting platform, we are looking for an experienced Data & BI consultant, who can contribute to various BI projects and maintenance assignments on the existing BI & Data Analytics platforms with his BI and data expertise.

Due to your expertise and technical background, you can handle the BI and data issues "end-to-end": you are responsible for the needs analysis, for the technical design, the data modelling in the Azure Data bricks data platform, and also the visualization/reporting in Power BI. You guide the customer through the entire delivery process.

You offer support to one or more data teams to keep the BI and data platforms operational:

• Execution and follow-up of the daily load jobs and "keep it running" activities
• Incident & Problem management
• Follow-up and assistance with planned interventions
• Follow-up change & release process

In addition, you are the point of contact for the business, and you provide functional support to the business users.

Context

You will join a self-managing SCRUM data team of SAP BI and MS Azure BI experts, within which you will perform the following activities:

• In consultation with information analysts, you will make functional analyses/specifications and discuss these with the various stakeholders (you will also ensure the validation of the documents).
• Based on the reporting requirements, you will develop the data model in accordance with the Client BI regulations.
• You will be responsible for the technical implementation within an MS Azure environment from extraction to final report.
• You will follow the usual development cycle within the respective environments.
• You will check the work carried out using a predefined test plan and help to make the test data available in order to execute the test cases.
• You will ensure that your work fits within our monitoring and alerting set-up so that all errors are immediately visible and the agreed service levels can be achieved.
• You will develop overarching communication and training material and keep it up to date.
• You will be responsible for the lifecycle management and updates/upgrades of the existing environments.
• You assist the data team in solving technical issues.
• Based on your expertise, you make improvement proposals within the BI framework.
• You assist the business in the use of the reporting tools or provide training.
• You think along about the future of BI in the Client framework, prepare the customer for future innovations, and guide them in the introduction of these changes.

Additionally:

• Given the strong interaction with the business, a very good knowledge of Dutch (both spoken and written) is necessary.
• Based on his/her expertise, this person must be able to fully participate in the existing team within 2 weeks. Self-organization & great learning ability are essential qualities in this.
