Ageas Group Capital Management is responsible for ensuring optimal capital structures for the Group and its subsidiaries, while meeting all relevant stakeholders’ requirements (regulatory requirements and specifically Solvency II, debt/equity investor expectations, management requirements). In particular, the department is responsible for ensuring optimal capital allocation, leverage, dividend flows, as well as managing the relationships and the capital models of the rating agencies that rate the Group.

The Capital Management department consists of a small, diverse and dynamic team that operates in close collaboration with the Treasury, M&A, Risk, Finance, Legal and Tax departments of the Corporate Center and interacts with all operational entities of the Group across Europe and Asia, including Reinsurance.

Your function

You work during the internship would include:

  • Further developing the Capital Management toolkit, which has been designed by the department to ensure that the most appropriate risk mitigating actions are taken by the Group and its subsidiaries at all times. The work would include aligning with relevant stakeholders across the Group in order to ensure optimal functionality for the end users and developing the tool using VBA.
  • Potentially aiding the team with day-to-day tasks or ad-hoc projects involving Dividends, Capital and the Credit Ratings of the Group.
Your profile
  • You are a Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Finance, Risk Management or a related field.
  • You have very good command of MS Excel and particularly VBA. You have experience using Word and PowerPoint.
  • You have affinity with financial markets and ideally basic understanding of the Solvency II framework
  • You have strong analytical skills
  • You are proactive and enthusiastic about delivering the best result
  • You are a team player, but you are able to work independently as well
  • You are fluent in English
