About Rechargeable Battery Materials (RBM)

What you will be doing
RBM’s current strategic growth plan defines where to locate production capacity to meet market demand for materials for rechargeable batteries!
In this context, a global programme of investment projects has been established, requiring additional Engineering resources to lead the implementation of strategic and sophisticated investments in an international context and to manage the teams involved, including external engineering resources.
By supporting the above plan, the Commissioning Engineering Manager is responsible for the team commissioning the new lines. The function has a key role in expansion projects that will provide more capacity to our three main types of production steps, Leaching and Refining, precursor and cathode active materials, and it is expected a great contribution for the resolution of technical problems and suggestions for installation improvements to meet process requirements.


As Commissioning Engineering Manageryou manage and lead the commissioning activities, work closely with operations and process teams to ensure a smooth transition to operations of the projects, develop standards for the commissioning activities to be executed on the different sites. You are also responsible to implement new and efficient practices while integrating lessons learned from previous projects.
What do we expect from you?
You:
  • Participate to the key design review such as P&ID, Equipment layout, Hazop to ensure that the pre-commissioning and commissioning requirements are incorporated into the design
  • Share a point of view and oversight on all expansion projects for pre-commissioning and commissioning
  • Supervise and review pre-commissioning and Commissioning worldwide for all sectors and are process owner for all policies and procedures associated to commissioning
  • Design and plan the commissioning phase to match the project targets (schedule, cost, scope) and modifications meeting project scope
  • Lead the commissioning engineering group, Provide guidance and arrange for training of staff
  • Manage regional commissioning engineering team during the commissioning of the projects
  • Supervise the preparation of the performance test procedures and of the operating manuals with the process team
  • Assist procurement team for the definition of vendor assistance
  • Ensure the preparation of final reports and certificates, and connect with operations team to insure a smooth transition
  • Timely detect roadblocks and take corrective action to overcome them
  • Report progress of the project to the Technical Planning Director
  • Gather relevant data to inform the decision makers regarding sophisticated issues
  • Gathers the lessons learned of previous projects and integrate it in the standards/templates/procedures for future projects
  • Participate in establishing the most efficient organizational structures of Engineering anticipating or adapting to changing environments
  • Perform engineering and technical support to the projects when needed, undertaking any additional tasks commensurate with the role as and when required
Who we are looking for
  • University degree, or equivalent qualification, in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation/Automation
  • Technical experience and/or background in the commissioning of engineering projects.
  • Proven experience (+ 5 years) in commissioning activities
  • Relevant experience and understanding in the commissioning of industrial projects in operational environments
  • Knowledge of design software (e.g. AutoCad)
  • Knowledge of EHS standards, industry good practices and legal requirements applicable to the specialty of focus
  • Proficient (written and verbal) English
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of the MS Office package
  • Must have the Knowledge, Experience and Skills to conduct the tasks in accordance with the rules and procedures set down.
