CropLife International is seeking a Communications Manager in Brussels, Belgium.

This challenging opportunity in international public affairs and communications provides an exciting growth opportunity for a professional who has a passion for science communications,
agriculture, writing/editing, networking, and advocacy. The role has high visibility with internal staff, association members, and external partners and stakeholders.

The Communications Manager’s primary responsibilities will include:
• Building and implementing CropLife International’s Public Affairs and Communications operational plan and providing communications counsel to colleagues to assist in the delivery of CropLife International’s strategy.
• Project management, supporting committees and engaging with member representatives, delivering high-quality materials according to timelines, and supervising external support agencies and
project budgets.
• Contributing to and coordinating the delivery of communication and advocacy resources. Assignments could include initiating and completing writing/editing assignments (articles, blogs,
news releases, issue alerts, reports, videos, minutes, brochures, etc.), developing infographics, videos, and other visual elements with a focus on developing content that can be amplified via
online platforms.
• Working with vendors and technical and creative consultants including managing and delivering projects according to their associated budgets and timelines.
• Leading technical projects, including website content and structure, webinars, and video content.

Qualifications include:
• Appropriate university degree (preferably communications, journalism, or public policy)
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in the field of science communications/journalism (background in agriculture preferred)
• Proven writing and editing skills. Ability to convey challenging concepts and complex
information into audience-appropriate communications
• Proven ability to meet deadlines
• Project management: ability to manage, organize and coordinate multiple projects, agency contracts, and relationships simultaneously
• Ability to think creatively with an understanding of visual communications tools
• Demonstrated experience managing and working with consultants/external suppliers and managing budgets
• Excellent communications skills, including listening, writing, oral, and presentation skills, plus experience delivering project reports
• Highly organized, task-oriented, independent worker with proven team-building skills, and ability to work across diverse geographies
• Limited international travel is required; flexibility for extended hours to meet deadlines or accommodation of time zones may be required.
