We are seeking a Community Marketing Lead to join our Brussels office. This individual will drive the development of Futurewave’s community-led initiatives, oversee event organization, expand our PR and social media presence, and work to build a stronger local presence.
You will lead brand positioning efforts, handle relationships with the press, and collaborate on high-impact marketing activities like creative campaigns and community-centered projects. The role will work closely with our leadership team to craft and execute strategies that align with Futurewave’s growth objectives.
Futurewave is a fast-growing Belgian agency tightly combining creative designers and engineers. We help organizations imagine, design and develop physical products that stand out. From idea to production, we focus the design and development of products on innovation, aesthetics, interactions and performances.
Located in Brussels, Futurewave is a team of 20 passionate people. We work in our own private office space and lab, surrounded by various prestigious designers and craftsman’s.
General Description:
- Lead community-building efforts and strengthen relationships with local stakeholders in Brussels, enhancing Futurewave’s brand presence.
- Plan, organize, and oversee virtual and in-person events aligned with business goals to drive community engagement.
- Develop and implement PR strategies to manage brand positioning, social media presence, and relationships with the press.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to design and execute high-impact marketing campaigns that promote growth and community engagement.
- Foster partnerships and collaborations to co-host events, strengthening Futurewave’s business network.
- Provide mentorship to team members, focusing on skill enhancement in marketing, community building, and event management.
General Expectations:
Resolution of Operational Difficulties:- Address and resolve any issues related to community-building initiatives, events, and marketing campaigns to ensure smooth operations.
- Responsibility for Corrective Measures:
- Identify and implement necessary adjustments in strategies to ensure event success and the achievement of community engagement targets.
- Process Management:
- Efficiently manage marketing processes related to event organization, PR, and social media to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Budget and Resources:
Manage Time and Resources:- Allocate time and resources effectively to ensure the successful execution of events and community-led initiatives within budget.
- Customer Budgets:
- Manage and oversee budgets for marketing activities, events, and PR initiatives to meet organizational goals.
Decisional Power:
Complex Problem-Solving:- Make decisions on technical and logistical challenges related to event management, PR, and community activities with a high level of complexity.
- Leadership Role in Marketing Strategy:
- Take a leading role in delivering marketing and event strategies that meet Futurewave’s growth objectives, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and customer needs.
External Working Relationships:
Clients and Stakeholders:- Collaborate closely with clients, community members, event partners, and local stakeholders to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Press and Media:
- Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets to ensure effective PR and brand visibility.
Key Processes and Tools:
Project Management Tools:- Use Odoo and Notion to manage marketing projects, event planning, and community-building activities.
- Documentation Tools:
- Utilize Notion and Figma to document strategies, event plans, and marketing performance.
- Office Master Suite:
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace for documentation and presentations.
Performance Indicators:
Project Quality and Client Satisfaction:High client and community satisfaction through well-executed events and community initiatives, reflected in feedback and surveys.- Metrics: Client feedback reports, community engagement metrics, and event success ratings.
- Growth from Community Initiatives: Demonstrated success in expanding Futurewave’s local presence through community engagement and partnerships.
- Metrics: Attendance and participation rates at events, social media growth, and press mentions.
- Team Development and Collaboration: Effective mentoring and collaboration with team members and partners to enhance the overall success of community and marketing projects.
- Metrics: Feedback from peers and stakeholders, measurable improvement in marketing campaigns.
After 3 Months:
Community Engagement Report:Deliver a detailed report on community initiatives, events, and PR outcomes, including a plan for ongoing engagement and growth.- Metrics: Detailed community engagement reports, event analysis, and press coverage summaries.
- Strategic Plan for Future Events: Develop a strategic plan for upcoming events, partnerships, and community engagement initiatives, focusing on long-term growth.
- Metrics: Event calendars, projected budgets, collaboration strategies.
- Mentoring and Development Plan for Team Members: Provide a structured mentoring plan for team members to support growth in community-building and marketing capabilities.
- Metrics: Documented training sessions, progress reports, and skill improvement evaluations.
Education, Certifications & Languages:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Fluency in English (C1), and French (Dutch is a plus).
- Proven experience in community-building, event management, and PR.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in community-building, event management, or PR, with a strong understanding of digital marketing.
- Experience managing social media and PR strategies for growing businesses.
- Proven track record of creating impactful partnerships and engaging with local communities.
Key Competencies:
- Strong communication and leadership skills to engage with a diverse audience.
- Ability to work collaboratively across different teams and manage external relationships.
- Experience in budget management for marketing and event activities.
