What challenge will you take on?
The Sustainable Operations team within Arcadis is fully committed to helping our clients make their operations more sustainable and improve their environmental and energy performance. We are a team in full development, working on issues with significant relevance in the present day.
We are looking for a new passionate Environment & Sustainability Consultant. You will be responsible for providing strategic environmental and sustainability advice to our clients, particularly in the areas of environmental management systems and ESG assessments. As a consultant, you may play a coaching role in the implementation of the systems, or an investigative role as an auditor or assessor in relation to ISO standards or ESG ranking systems.
You will be part of a dynamic team that provides sustainability advice to companies and governments at the crossroads of our expertise in sustainability, biodiversity, greenhouse gas emissions, water, waste and climate.
More specifically, you will be responsible for the following-
- Provide strategic advice to our clients on sustainability, i.e. setting the right targets (science-based), roadmaps, (carbon) footprinting & reporting
- Supervise the implementation, maintenance and audit of our client’s environmental management systems in accordance with the methodologies developed by our team
- Help build our ESG services by collaborating with other Arcadis international teams in the US, UK, NL, and other regions
- Manage all project management tasks and contacts with the client
- You have a Master’s degree in environmental or sustainability sciences
- You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in environmental management systems based on ISO14001 or EMAS
- You are a strong communicator who can write fluently in several languages (fluency in English, Dutch and French is a plus)
- You do not hesitate to deliver presentations about your work
- You are proactive, entrepreneurial and independent at work
- You are flexible and can easily adjust when things do not go as planned
- You have strong project management and coordination skills
- You are committed to delivering excellent quality services to our clients
- You are willing to travel when necessary
