Proclinical is recruiting a Director - Assay Development for a biotech organization. This role is on a permanent basis and is located in Belgium.Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the choice of technologies and clinical assays
  • Manage a team of Scientists responsible for the bacterial functional clinical assay development, validation, and maintenance.
  • Drive your team to develop best in class assays and assay files for regulatory submissions.
  • Lead the constant increase in performance allowing to accelerate assay delivery, reduce testing turnaround time at affordable cost.
  • Advance relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to constantly develop the assay portfolio to answer to evolving project demands. Act as a recognized scientific expert in the field.
  • Drive innovation by constant technology and scientific surveillance.
  • Contribute to the development and/or review of internal and external publications, documents, and communications.
  • Ensure all activities under responsibility are performed in compliance with Quality Assurance guidelines, relevant regulations (ISO, ICH guideline,) and internal policies.
Skills And Requirements
  • PhD in Immunology and/or Microbiology with substantial proven experience in clinical assay sciences.
  • Considerable experience in regulated environment.
  • Experience in line management.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team to success.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Business savviness, managing cultural differences and being influential is highly advantageous - will have to connect with internal stakeholders and external collaborators, KOLs, CROs or small biotech leaders.
