VAN DIEVEL TRANSPORT in MECHELEN is looking for a dispatcher.

Job description

You coordinate incoming telephone calls and e-mails.
You monitor the existing routes via track & trace in cooperation with the planner and make adjustments where necessary.
You communicate with the drivers and act as a contact point for their daily problems and also provide solutions for them.
You perform the necessary communication and feedback to the customer (by telephone or via customer-specific software). Customer focus is key here!
You are on permanent rotation (1 week out of 5) after an internal training of minimum 3 months.

Profile

You have a degree in logistics or equivalent through experience.
Perfectly Dutch speaking, a good knowledge of French and English is required.
You have a good geographical knowledge of Belgium.
You are a real team player with strong communication skills.
You are assertive when necessary.
You are stress resistant, administrative, accurate and can work in an organized way.
You are familiar with PC (MO package) and willing to learn other software.
You have the flexibility to work with a rotation system.

Job-related competencies

Monitoring or controlling the execution of transport
Identifying and adjusting problems
Drawing up and updating the daily planning of the drivers
Organising and planning the drivers’ routes
Compiling the road transport file and providing the documents to customers, drivers, etc.
Providing technical support to the drivers in the event of a breakdown, accident, etc. (changing route, travelling time, etc.)
