Position Overview
At Showpad, engineering leads have overall ownership of the performance of one or more engineering teams. They focus on improving team and individual performance. Engineering Leads make sure their teams are set up for success and have everything needed to excel in building the products our users expect from us, aligned with the business goals.
Being an engineering lead is not about being the smartest or most experienced member of the team. You’re not the team’s "mobile expert" or go-to for complex offline capability strategies. It’s your job to tackle challenges by thoughtfully leading collaborative efforts based on everyone’s strengths, describing the roadmap and driving the objectives of your team(s).
As an Engineering Lead at Showpad, you are expected to communicate well within your teams, across teams and towards senior management.
This position is to lead team Developer Experience (DevXP). The team’s purpose is to unlock Showpad’s platform for application developers of Showpad, customers and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead your teams in the delivery of great products. Engineering Leads are the first and the last person responsible for on-time delivery of products, with the greatest quality.
- Facilitates the self-assessment process in the context of building individual growth paths for each of the engineering team members
- Setting team objectives together with the teams
- Performance management of the engineering team members
- Ensures product metrics are in place to measure the success of the teams
- Ambassador of the 5 Showings and the Showpad engineering culture.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in leading software engineering teams.
- Proven record of managing multiple critical software projects: You live the process. Let’s face it, delivering software in teams is a tough job. You know that you can’t be successful without bringing order to chaos. SCRUM, issue tracking and continuous integration are all second nature to you.
- Ability to distill the key success criteria for projects and programs by challenging the stakeholders. Approaches all negotiations with an open and collaborative mind.
- Strong computer science fundamentals: You are versed in multiple technologies. You have first-hand experience working on large-scale software projects. You will need to be familiar with frontend development, micro service backend development, API and cloud technologies (preferably AWS based technologies)
- Excellent communication skills: you can effectively work with engineers but at the same time collaborate with product managers and salespeople. Both spoken and written English communication skills are required to handle our synchronous and asynchronous way of working.
