What You Will Be Doing

This role is responsible for all logistics activities required to pick up product from EU factories, warehouses, and certain suppliers, and deliver to end customers for both the Chemicals & Monitoring Solutions (CMS) as well as Equipment Systems (ES) businesses across Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and Middle East. This manager will own the efficient management of a $20M/yr spend consisting mainly outsourced common carrier services and warehouse operations. This role is also responsible for ensuring network optimization, optimizing full costs when combining warehousing and transportation costs. The position oversees a team of approximately 20 direct and indirect staff plus oversight of approximately 30 warehouse personnel and contractors. This role has a balance of both efficient daily transactional execution as well as facilitating strategic process improvements with cross-functional teams including finance, sales, engineering, sourcing, supply chain.

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrate accountability in leading & delivering business objectives on one of supply chain’s major functions.
  • Develop optimum logistics / warehousing / distribution model to drive the most efficient flow of materials and products at best total landed cost.
  • Own full accountability for all Logistics cost savings targets by continually looking for and driving distribution cost savings opportunities. Identify, resource, and implement effective projects while not adversely impacting service quality and cash.
  • Define and leverage operational KPIs, summary and detail, to drive service performance
  • Partner closely with Global Logistics Programs Team along with Global Procurement, to evaluate the best TMS and/or 4th Partly Logistics Solution which would be used across all of EU and likely other regions as well.
  • Lead the regional implementation of the Freight Bill Audit & Pay provider by partnering with Global Programs, Procurement, and Carriers.
  • Work closely with regional sourcing and 4PL to lead projects associated with carrier execution effectiveness. Develop strong cross-functional relationships and operating mechanisms with EMEA Supply Chain Plant Managers (shipping points), commercial leaders, PSI, Customer Care, and Supply Chain Finance
  • Manage warehouse EHS compliance, including setting provider requirements, expectations, and metrics Pursue logistics functional excellence in all areas
Who We Are Looking For

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college

Minimum of 7 years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Sourcing, or Transportation Management

Desired Characteristics

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Strong financial acumen

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Proficient with ERP systems, preferably SAP

Familiar in operating Logistics Tools such as Warehouse Management, Transport Management System (TMS)

Solid knowledge of road transport regulations across Europe and CIS.

Proven track record of change management in a complex cross-functional environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry, Engineering, or Logistics from accredited University

Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization

Ability to work well in a fast-paced and challenging environment

Project work experience

Black Belt Lean / Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training
