Overview

This role partners with facilities, security, engineering, researchers and lab operations to ensure safe, environmentally sound, audit and emergency ready at any time. This role assesses site hazards, conducts incident investigations, implements business unit standards. The EHS Specialist is accountable for implementation and execution of site compliance, risk analysis, continuous improvement and managing incident investigation and corrective action.

Responsibilities

This role would suit an EHS Specialist with circa 5 years ‘hands-on’ EHS operational experience within a manufacturing environment within industries such as Pharma, Mission Critical, Med Tech, Advance Manufacturing

Ideally candidate needs to be located within a reasonable commuting distance of Eindhoven as this will be the long term location for the role.

5 days per week on site travelling between two sites (Eindhoven & Turnhout)

Based in the on-site HSE Department you will be involved in:
  • Provide environmental and safety technical guidance on new and existing process including chemical hazards, equipment safety and process changes
  • Lead and conduct inspections to ensure regulatory compliance, perform and review risk assessments and lead incident investigations
  • Serve as emergency response coordinator
  • Prepare and maintain records for waste management, spill response and other applicable safety and environmental reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and company standards on all EHS matters
  • Oversee and maintain equipment and chemical inventories, develop applicable environmental reports and submissions.
  • Provide annual summary of incidents and other metrics as requested.
  • Schedule annual Fire Risk Assessment, Building Risk Assessments and Health Surveillance
  • Schedule an annual review of regulatory readiness by location
  • Partner with various departments, including facilities, project management, researchers, hardware engineers, security, and corporate EHS initiatives and maintain positive relationships with cross functional partners

Qualifications

We would expect the successful candidate to satisfy the following:
  • BS Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety or related field
  • 5+ years of experience overseeing EHS responsibilities at R&D or manufacturing operations
