Industrial Designer

About the role:

Our mission is to design earwear that offers protection, comfort & self-expression and to help millions of people worldwide. This year we’re betting big on great people, product innovation and a strong brand. And in a few years, we might even be the first hardware unicorn in Belgium!

And you? Well, we’re hoping you’ll be our new Industrial Designer. Envisioning new products, making them fit with the sleak Loop design style. You’ll work closely with our engineers, product developers and product management to build products that customers love.

We’re looking for someone who can:

Draw up our product ideas. And our future.

Our current status? Sitting on a pile of exciting product ideas that need to be brought to life. This year alone we’ll bring 5 new products, 4 accessories and 12 style projects to the market. And that’s where you come in. You’re a visualizing phenomenon, your sketches are spot on. A quick brainstorm and you’re good to go.
But never without keeping the bigger design picture in mind too.

Multiple design proposals for the same product idea? Sure, you tend to look at things from different angles anyway. You’re so curious it’s contagious. And you’ve got the 3D and rendering skills to back it up. Much to the delight of our Product Managers, Marketing team and the Design researchers. They’ll use your work in their user and market research and figure out which design/product works best.

Does being Loop’s go-to visualizer means the new product ideas can’t come from you? Not at all. On the contrary. If you have some ideas, we’d love to hear them.
You’ll be involved in front-end innovation projects as well as new product development projects. Plenty of chances to put in your two cents.

Nail down the Loop esthetic

One look at of one of our hearables and you know it’s a Loop product. That’s the effect we’re looking for. In other words: you’re here to guard Loop’s signature product design language. Signature shapes, colors, materials, finishes, curves, … Your urge to get things just right will come in handy here. Neatly structured and crystal clear.
Need a critical look? Touch base with our Director of Design, that’s also the person you’ll be reporting to.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with product development, engineering, and marketing teams to develop innovative earplug and accessory designs that meet customer needs and market trends.
• Take ownership of projects and proactively seek out new design opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project goals are met.
• Use CAD software and other design tools to create detailed 3D models of earplug designs.
• Develop mock-up of earplug designs using rapid prototyping techniques, such as 3D printing.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and materials related to industrial design and hearing protection.

How you’ll do it:

• Degree in Industrial Design or Product Development.
• At least 3 years of experience in industrial design, preferably in a design agency, the hearing protection or consumer electronics industry.
• Proficiency in 3D design software, such as SolidWorks or Creo.
• Strong knowledge of design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes and experience with rapid prototyping techniques.
• Curious, coachable, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
• Self-directed learner with a passion for design and innovation.
• You master the most universal language known to mankind: sketching. But you’re fluent in English too, both written and spoken. Loop is a global brand, you see. It’s the go-to language amongst colleagues, partners, and clients.
• You’re in our Antwerp office at least once a week, but otherwise you’re free to work wherever. Why? We need the entire Product team working together creatively. And that’s just easier in person.
