Position Description

IT Business Partner – Finance & Legal

Position Snapshot
  • The IT Business Partner for Finance & Legal is responsible for being the primary EMIA technology partner for the functions. The responsibilities cover stakeholder management, portfolio management, together with architecture developing strategy & roadmaps in their domains, driving process improvements, automation & change initiatives.
  • You will also be the key person to initiate projects, following agreed methodology and processes. You will together with the busines scope the project, ensure the organization on business & IT side are setup for success and then coordinate with the relevant internal and external parties to provide cost/timing estimates to feed in to the business case for approvals.
  • You will conduct the monthly Departmental Portfolio Management Committees proving a project status (including Financials)
  • You will also manage the Departmental Project Budget and work closely with SI (Strategic Initiatives) sponsors, PMO’s and architects to shape and follow-up the relevant Strategic Initiatives.
  • Working with Architects, PMO and other IT Business Partners, you will bring to the departmental PMC (Portfolio Management Commitee) those initiatives that have a strong impact on Finance and/or represent an opportunity for Finance and/or require Finance resources.
  • You will identify areas of opportunity to improve existing Departmental processes, functionality and workflows, and maximize technological capabilities to reduce manual processes and to improve data management and efficiency and driving innovation.
  • You will work closely with various the management team of these 2 functions across EMIA, and act as liaison towards the IT function as well as towards senior management, vendors and implementation partners.
Responsibilities & accountabilities are for instance, although not limited to:
  • Own the longer term roadmap of system needs and adoption planning of future functionality, for as well as other systems, in order to contribute in the future Departmental digitalization plan at BSEMIA level.
  • Own the Respective Functions departmental project budget.
  • Drive the initiation of projects according to BS IT framework and setup for success.[GR1]
  • Ensure the proper transfer of finalised projects to services organisation/partners.
  • Leads strategy for Department specific solutions technology upgrades
  • Proactively identifies and recommends opportunities for operational excellence and process improvements to eliminate inefficiencies in our technologies and better support business needs
  • Maintain awareness of vendor plans and the potential impact of those plans on current and future Departmental functionality.
  • Attend external conferences and align with other organizations in order to stay up-to-date and bring the external insights and learnings in
  • Ensure all other initiatives not lead by the function but impacting the function are also understood and appropriate budgeting and planning of resources is done.
  • Similarly for those initiatives driven by the function but needing other functions support- drive alignment, mobilization and appropriate budgeting/planning of resources
  • Thought leadership- co-create the digital roadmap of the function together with the business stakeholders and/or partners
  • Being able to embrace Agile concepts and methodology.
  • Act as Domain architect
    • Understand the capabilities of our current platforms (O365/Teams/Power, but also DnA, RPA,..) and leverage these appropriately for Finance & Legal community
    • Drive the technology agenda and architecture for Finance & Legal functions liaising with IT enterprise architects when needed.
    • Ensure privacy, GDPR and security aspects are fully integrated into the related roadmaps
Experience
  • Master degree in Finance, IT or Business-related field and 10+ years of management experience within the area.
  • Change Management, leadership, and third-party relationship management experience.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management experiencing; having been exposed to early adopters, challengers and resistors
  • A good understanding of the finance area and financial processes in a multi-national company- processes related to Financial translations but also financial implications across other functions- from R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Sales.
  • Experience in the interaction with Finance & Legal Departments (optional) and the related ability to build a relationship of trust and influence is a must.
  • Experience related to implementation of large-scale financial systems and integrations is a plus
  • Experience with SAP strongly preferred, Experience with Analytics a plus and experience with any other relevant tools.
  • Previous experience in an International Business environment is highly preferred
  • Curiosity and a focus on continuous improvement within the Departmental arena
  • Can take a creative idea and put it into practice.
