For its Design team based in the European Head office, Oudenaarde (Belgium),

American Tourister is currently looking for a motivated and creative:

Junior Designer

American Tourister / Disney / Kids

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing aspirational and commercial products for American Tourister and the Samsonite Kids category.
• Prepare technical files in 2D and 3D for product sampling and development.
• Prepare graphics and illustrations based on marketing brief’s requests and design trends.
• Compile comments files and update the technical files as needed.
• Constantly be informed on the competitor’s collections and seek for trends and inspiration in products, materials and new techniques.

• Compile trends reports and product reports.
• Be always in contact with the development team to ensure the design timeline is fitting the development needs and reach the demanded delivery date.
• Always be open-minded and think of possible innovations that could be implemented in the products
• Attend to product fairs, fieldtrips and store check tours as required.

• Assists the Design Manager in any other design project as required.

Applicants should:

• Have an accredited degree in Industrial, Graphic or Fashion Design. A first working experience (preferably international) would be a plus.
• Willing to gain experience within an exciting, quick, deadline-driven and ever-changing design environment.
• Have a strong portfolio and a good sense of colors.
• Have excellent computer skills.
• Have good skills in sketching.
• Have strong skills in Graphics.
• Have a working knowledge of the Adobe suite: Illustrator, Photoshop.
• Have a working knowledge of 3D softwares: Rhinoceros, Keyshot.
• Have a basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite: Excel and PowerPoint.
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Be a team player.
• Be pro-active and show the ability to organise the workload efficiently.
• Demonstrate the ability to adapt to a multicultural environment.
• Be proficient in English.
• Demonstrate creative flair and be curious.
• Continuously pay strong attention to details and accuracy.
• Be organized.
