MindCapture supports in the recruitment of this talent for a global biotech company that’s developing, manufacturing and commercializing new cell-based therapies to battle cancer with focus on immunology. They are developing advanced cell therapies across a diverse array of technology platforms, including autologous and allogenic chimeric antigen receptor T-cell and natural killer (NK) cell-based immunotherapy.

To support the Technical Operations Group, we are looking for a Lab Equipment (Maintance) Engineer.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As Lab Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible to perform on-site reactive, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities according to cGMP and safety requirements.

This role will require technical expertise and troubleshooting ability and shall drive effective communication, coordination and collaboration across relevant cross functional groups to enable robust production, testing and release of product to the patients.

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain process equipment, instrumentation, systems, electrical devices, circuits, controls, switch gear, and motors (cGMP and non-GMP).
  • Document all maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) using good documentation practices.
  • Provide on-call support as required.
  • Stay updated on applicable codes, regulations, licensing, certifications, and training.
  • Support minor upgrades and implementation of new process equipment, instruments, and systems.
  • Track and achieve annual Engineering and Maintenance objectives, including metric improvement targets.
  • Propose alterations, modifications, or replacements of equipment and systems to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs and downtime.
  • Support implementation of cost and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with other duties and willingness to learn new skills as required.
  • Support the development of new practices, policies, and procedures related to Engineering and Maintenance activities.
  • Support Engineering and Maintenance driven quality events such as deviations, investigations, change controls, CAPAs, root cause analysis, and FMEAs.

REQUIRED COMPETENCES & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical/electrical/bio) or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance, engineering or operations within an industrial manufacturing or regulated environment is required.
  • Experience in a controlled pharmaceutical cleanroom environment under aseptic conditions is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Understanding of technical installations, process equipment, facilities, and computerized systems in a manufacturing or regulated environment
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and other components
  • Familiarity with electrical theory, thermal energy principles, mechanical maintenance techniques, and electromechanical theory
  • Ability to identify and address gaps in processes, equipment, facilities, and systems
  • Troubleshooting skills for highly technical equipment
  • Experience with validated and qualified process equipment, systems, and documentation
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Flexibility to work different shifts and provide on-call support as needed
  • Highly organized and capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with different teams and departments
  • Attention to detail and adherence to procedures
  • Proficiency in basic computer software packages and Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with SAP and CMMS preferred
  • You are fluent (writing & reading) in Dutch.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical English, equipment manuals, and complex blueprints

Important: this challenge is within a shift schedule, with the advantage of working 4 days per week (10 hours/day) with 4 days off. Shifts include routine weekend and evening work as required by the process. This shift system can help you avoid traffic and reduce time spend in the car
