Equansis looking for a Lead Engineer Electrical (Offshore Wind) for Hoboken.In the context of the Offshore Services division strategy and within the set framework, you work in multi-disciplinary project teams and are responsible for the engineering activities related to the different systems of your specialty (expertise). You are responsible for the performance of the electrical project team Engineers.

The job:
  • assist the Project Engineering Manager in:
    • structuring the electrical design & engineering activities for the project
    • planning the engineering work and associated engineering resources for the project
  • system management:
    • prepare integrated concept designs, outline specifications, technical specifications for systems and equipment, functional specifications together with partners where appropriate. For the systems that are procured, the focus is also on the follow-up of the respective suppliers/subcontractors
    • translate the client’s and statutory requirements in appropriate technical documents (Request For Proposal – Technical part) to be used by the Procurement team to obtain “best in class” conditions (at bidding phase and execution phase)
    • lead the engineering activities for the allocated systems and monitor quality, assess input from Engineering team, partners, suppliers and subcontractors
    • prepare the Operations & Maintenance manuals to be delivered to customers
    • incorporate appropriate maintenance engineering in the design and provide support to the in-house Monitoring & Maintenance department
    • provide support towards Construction & Commissioning: definition of procedures, tools & systems to organize the works for the construction of the products to be delivered
  • internal contacts: other departments, Team Lead Electrical, Head of Engineering
  • external contacts: suppliers, clients, subcontractors, JV partners

Do you possess the following qualifications & skills? Apply now!
  • university level degree, master of science in engineering (electrical/electromechanical)
  • excellent knowledge and minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, procurement & construction activities (in the field of your specialty/expertise) related to offshore applications
  • track record related to offshore substations (OHVS)
  • technical knowledge:
    • knowledge of DNVGL-OS-ST145 is a preference
    • knowledge of DNV-GL-OS-D201 is a preference
    • knowledge of IEC60364 and IEC61439 – knowledge of IEC 61892 is an advantage
    • experience with AutoCad and Eplan software is an advantage
    • experience with Caneco software is an advantage
  • leadership capabilities and experience in supervising an engineering team in an international context
  • you can assist the team in defining the correct priorities
  • you are able to structure and prioritize your own work, and to work under a set time frame
  • you are able to manage good relationships with the project management team, the client and our partners while monitoring Equans’ interests
  • it is possible that a short mission abroad can apply for meetings with the Employer or Factory Acceptance Tests
  • communication skills: English/Dutch. Knowledge of French and/or German is an added value
