Roche fosters diversity, equity and inclusion, representing the communities we serve. When dealing with healthcare on a global scale, diversity is an essential ingredient to success. We believe that inclusion is key to understanding people’s varied healthcare needs. Together, we embrace individuality and share a passion for exceptional care. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

At Roche, we are passionate about transforming patients’ lives, and we are bold in both decision and action - we believe that good business means a better world. That is why we come to work every single day. We commit ourselves to scientific rigor, unassailable ethics, and access to medical innovations for all. We do this today to build a better tomorrow.

In vitro diagnostics plays a crucial role in medical decisions. High-quality test results delivered in an efficient manner are a basic requirement of our clinical lab customers. There is, however, an increasing need to go beyond the test result alone and offer support in the clinical interpretation and patient care path optimisation.

As a Medical Value Partner, you are forward looking and drive clinical innovation and its implementation into clinical routine. You are responsible for identifying opportunities to build a better healthcare system, support both strategic planning and the implementation of the tailored medical strategy. You create value by improving patient pathways, positioning Roche Diagnostics Belgium as a strategic partner, engaging in a broader healthcare network and generating new opportunities.

As part of the Medical Excellence Team, you will work in close collaboration with various colleagues across Commercial/Marketing/Access from Roche Diagnostics and Roche Pharmaceuticals.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Identify current challenges, unmet needs or opportunities along cancer patient journeys by developing a thorough understanding of the current clinical practice and patient pathways

  • Identify KOLs and build a solid network of relevant HCPs/HCOs to formulate medical strategies for focused disease areas, keep knowledge up-to-date by following scientific publications and congresses (Activities include: take part in internal trainings, set up medical workshops, advisory boards, HCP and PAG meetings, participate in pharma collaborations, etc.)

  • Engage and partner with the Belgian clinical stakeholders to prepare for new launches, generate clinical demand for our high medical value Diagnostics solutions as well as increase patient access of on-market medical value solutions. (Activities include: develop training and education programs for both internal and external stakeholders, collaborating with medical, marketing, commercial and access colleagues to deliver on disease areas strategy, lead non-intended use discussions, etc.)

  • Generate medical evidence to fill the gaps and support the value dossiers to increase the adoption at payers and/or KOL level (Activities include: sponsor or support clinical studies or RWD projects, set-up research collaborations)

Who you are:

  • You hold a Graduate Degree in a technical, scientific or medical subject. Relevant experience could replace the need for a specific degree

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role (e.g. marketing, medical, sales, consultancy, customer support);

  • You have strong knowledge of Belgian healthcare ecosystem and experience in managing relationships with KOLs

  • You are fluent in Dutch or French (+ willing to become fluent in both languages) and fluent in English

  • You like to work in dynamic and self-empowered teams where you proactively take initiative and collaborate with colleagues to drive new opportunities

  • You are customer and patient-centric, authentic, collaborative, passionate, curious and caring to realise the best outcome

  • You are a doer with a ‘can-do’ mindset

  • You are flexible, representing a growth mindset, and agile-ready

  • You are eager to learn and develop yourself

  • Experience in setting up and maintaining clinical studies is a plus
