We are now looking to reinforce our EU Financial Services Policy team with an EU Policy Financial Services (Senior) Consultant – policies related to retail financial services, innovation, capital markets, etc. (with experience in relevant policies, including the development of EU policy studies).

We are seeking to appoint an experienced professional with a strong record in European policy studies in the above-mentioned areas to strengthen our practice. We expect the right candidate to contribute to the strategic and business development in this area, and manage projects from the inception phase to their final implementation and dissemination. The right person will have the skills, knowledge, experience and policy background to win work and manage projects.

You join our multinational EU Financial Services Policy team based in Brussels, to play an active role in our business development and our projects covering different policy domains (with a strong focus on the European Commission’s DG FISMA and related agencies among others).

The function will offer opportunities for career development as our activities are expanding. According to your background and experience you will, in the policy areas concerned:

• Support the implementation of financial services-related projects in all stages of the policy cycle, thus helping governments and institutions define their business strategies and translate their vision into concrete initiatives.
• Assist in client meetings by preparing material, conducting interviews and supporting workshops.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative research, and write high-quality study reports, analyses and policy briefings in the field of financial services, particularly for projects in better regulation, policy evaluation and impact assessment.
• Continuously monitor of the EU policy framework in the area of financial services.
• Contribute to the development of proposals.
• Contribute to firm eminence in the field of financial services for internal and external audiences.
• Support marketing and market eminence activities in the area of financial services.
  
  

Let’s Talk About You

• University degree and preferably also a relevant Master/postgraduate degree.
• At least 2 years of work experience in the areas mentioned above.
• Passionate about the public sector and possess proven experience working with or for the public sector in an advisory capacity.
• Good understanding of the EU institutions, the EU decision-making process and key EU policy areas (knowledge of impact assessment, policy evaluations and stakeholder management methodologies is a plus).
• Strong experience working on policy areas at European level related to Financial Services. In particular, you have built expertise in one or several of the following domains: retail financial services (payments, mortgages, consumer finance,…), financial stability of banks, (digital) innovation, capital markets,…
• Pro-active, curious, open-minded, creative, enthusiastic, flexible, and a natural team player.
• Ability to form your own opinion and support it by objective argumentation.
• Great communicator with the ability to articulate complex ideas to all levels of an organization, and effectively lead and manage all key stakeholders
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and fluency in English (spoken and written). Knowledge of French and other official EU languages is an advantage.
