POLITICOLiveis seeking aProject Manager / Associateto produce and execute high-profile, newsworthy event programs.

The Project Manager / Associate position is a mid-level position responsible forrecruiting and managing top level speakers, drafting content for our marketing communications, managing the regular communication with events sponsors and coordinating the successful delivery of the event with the operations manager.

As events involve cross-platform elements (print and online) and the input of many different constituents, the Live Project Manager / Associate interacts with colleagues from a wide range of departments across the company, including Editorial, Sales, Marketing and Logistics.

What You’ll Do

Program development:

• Oversee multiple events’ day-to-day management including ensuring program is aligned with the newsroom and market needs
• Work with Live editor and research topic to identify most prominent and appropriate speaker candidates
• Ensure that event programs are produced/signed off to deadline and are briefed to marketing and sales team to deadline

Speakers’ recruitment and management:

• Identify and recruit high-level speakers
• Manage speaker liaison throughout the project development and onsite at the event
• Set up and lead speakers’ pre-event briefing calls and post event communications
• Create and update programs and microsites
• Ensure a constant update of the database throughout the production process

Build strategic relationships with policy makers and industry experts (clients):

• Manage client relationship and participate in kick-off and debrief calls with sponsors, ensuring their KPIs are understood and met
• Be the main point of contact for regular communication with the sponsor

Logistics:

• Work closely with the LIVE Operations Manager to ensure a smooth delivery of high-quality events
• Prepare notes and detailed agenda for event moderators
• Coordinate stage set up, catering, badges, distribution materials, hosts/esses

Marketing support:

• Prepare marketing briefs
• Support preparation of marketing creatives, content for emails, print & online materials
  

What You’ll Need

• 1-4 years of professional experience, proven track record in events / project management
• Great organizational and prioritization skills
• Ability to liaise with, and coordinate, high number of stakeholders
• News savvy, enthusiastic about digital journalism and the political sphere
• Self-motivation and determination with a strong sense of personal initiative
• Deep commitment to deliver our events as an extension of our journalism and up to POLITICO’s high standards
• Knowledge of project management applications and CRM software
• Fluent command of English, written and spoken
