Principal IT System Engineer

Group Technology Services (GTS) plans, builds and runs the global infrastructure of Euroclear, and is additionally responsible for the IT service management to the operating entities of the various Group markets. Group Technology Services operates its IT systems and IT services in such a way that, at an appropriate and benchmarked cost level, it can deliver the agreed levels of service to support the requirements of the business processes, for both normal operations and during disaster recovery.

You will be joining the Virtual Infrastructure Services team within the Group Technology Services (GTS) in charge of putting in place the necessary infrastructure to host our distributed platforms.

The main responsibility of the team is to plan, build and run the global infrastructure to support distributed workload. We are committed to bring the best computing experience to our Euroclear internal clients (platforms, office and business applications) via innovative virtualized services through its Converged and Hyper-Converged infrastructures. Taking security and disaster recovery at the core or our architecture.

Role & responsibilities:

• You will have a leading role in identifying the vision and strategies required to support the long-term objectives of our backup and archiving strategy.
• Complexity & problem solving : Handles standard & non-standard situations with low level of uncertainty, covering multiple and new domains of expertise
• Ensure appropriate security and governance controls are in place with regular recertification
• Has specific expertise and leads knowledge development within a specific discipline or industry.
• Ensures proper translation of business requirements into knowledge, technology, and organization specifications that satisfy the client’s strategic and operational objectives.
• Monitors use, capacity, and performance of IT systems.
• Ensures installation and implementation of new equipment/software as required.
• Provides technical support to operations staff and application developers during resolution of production problems.

Required qualifications:

• You have worked for more than 7 years in the IT industry and have proven experience working in specifically in Backup and Archiving. But also on other domains like: Storage, Converged – and Hyperconverged infrastructure.
• You can tackle autonomously all types of architectural analysis and can provide global & pragmatic recommendations adapted to the company context with little guidance.
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• You are a able to deliver immediate actionable information combined with visionary long term thinking
• You communicate clearly and maintain positive professional relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
• You have a strong organisational awareness and sensitivity

Good to have:

• Cohesity certification
• Hands-on technical experience creating process automation scripts using Python, REST APIs
• Working experience in an agile context
• Drive and energy, entrepreneurial attitude, hands-on mentality
• Able to quickly diagnose system problems and implement solutions to restore functionality
• Knowledge and experience in Ansible & Tower
