As our successful Procurement Business Partner, you will be responsible for the administration of procurement activities and supplier management for assigned commodities, products and services in particular in the area of CAPEX (Capital Expenditures) and Indirect Materials and Services Procurement.

You will be required to prepare, make and execute decisions to ensure uninterrupted quality product/raw material flow or service delivery, on-time implementation of CAPEX projects, negotiating lowest total cost and optimizing supplier relationships.

As our Procurement Business Partner, you will also be responsible for the negotiation and commercial management of contracts to support facility and country services.

You will maintain communications internally and externally to identify and resolve issues, which can impact operating efficiencies.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and implement key supplier strategies and programs in close collaboration with relevant global category functions. Foster supplier partnerships. Focus on supplier performance, development, implementing and monitoring procurement strategies into a "World Class" business environment.
  • Investigate or support quality in resolution of complaints.
  • Monitor supplier performance to achieve division and / or project objectives assigned to suppliers. Maintain and review supplier performance reports to ensure conformance to supplier management goals (cost, quality, service, delivery). Review and resolve supplier performance issues.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of suppliers and market capabilities. Learn and deploy purchasing practices and procedures. Effectively communicate this information to all levels of management.
  • Deploy procurement strategies and scorecards to optimize quality, services and costs. Achieve goals established in the strategic plan.
  • Lead and support risk analysis. Partner with Global Category Managers to identify risk mitigation plan for assigned commodities.
  • Lead/Support all sourcing relevant activities - from market analysis, bidding process to supplier selection in alignment with Global management and cross functional team (project team/users/requestors/Quality). Create cost saving opportunities through competitive bidding, negotiations, etc., while maintaining ethical practices and win-win outcomes for both parties. Initiates projects that eliminate non-value-added activities, increase quality and service and reduce costs. Identify cost savings opportunities and submit Value Improvement Projects for evaluation and execution.
  • Develop procurement strategies for CAPEX Projects in close collaboration with the Global CAPEX Procurement and Capital Management and Engineering functions.
  • Negotiates on behalf of Takeda with suppliers on price, delivery and other terms and any material change of that in accordance with the legal policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the annual standard costing process and provide price forecasts – as relevant. Maintain standard costing program to ensure a favourable Purchase Price Variance.
  • Analyse quotations, contracts, etc. to ensure that proposals meet with Takeda standards, government regulations and accepted trade practices. Supports supplier creation process and defines buyer/supplier data where applicable (e.g. Incoterms).
  • Source new local/regional suppliers and assist in supplier evaluation / creation.
  • For suppliers in scope, lead communication around performance, projects, and complaints. Escalate issues whenever necessary to avoid disruptions in manufacturing.
  • Work with internal Quality Systems and procedures to ensure compliance to all requirements.
Key Skills, Knowledge And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field required.
  • Purchasing experience in the relevant indirect and CAPEX areas required.
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry background preferred.
  • C.P.S.M., C.P.M. and/or CPIM certification preferred.
  • Comprehension of ERP/MRP II and its operating environment required.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading strategic and operational procurement activities linked to green and brown field CAPEX projects related to the construction / re-construction of manufacturing and adjacent facilities (e.g. warehouses) is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial and change management of high-value engineering, project and construction management as well as validation contracts is required.
  • Knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code and contract law preferred.
  • Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing
  • Good presentation, written and verbal communication skills. French and English languages.
  • Ability to work in a complex project environment under high time and quality pressure
