BU: MSC
R&D Engineer - Electrochemistrywill be working within the R&D team with other skilled members who are experts in numerical simulation and software development mainly. The R&D team develops a multi-scale technology for modeling heterogeneous materials to push the limit of virtual multi-scale process, material and structural engineering. R&D Engineer - Electrochemistry will be responsible for the development of new product capabilities related to design & engineering of materials for batteries.
The candidate will thus participate in the development of the DIGIMAT solution for material engineering, modeling the links between material microstructure, constituents properties, environmental conditions and material performances (in this case thermo-electro-chemical performances).
Responsibilities:
- Be the technical reference for the development of new product capabilities related to design & engineering of materials for batteries.
- Implement proof of concepts and validate the technical stack.
- Participate at the implementation of new features in the products, in collaboration with all stakeholders (product managers, software developers/architects, QA engineers, …).
- Participate in the implementation of the tests needed to assess the quality of these new features.
- Work with solution architect and experts from other teams to build-up synergies.
- Report activities related to modeling material for batteries to management.
- Participate in conferences, trainings.
Required:
- A Ph.D. or equivalent experience in material science, physics, chemistry, or computational engineering related to batteries.
- Knowledge in physical couplings between electro-chemistry and thermo-mechanical behavior of materials.
- Good understanding of the relations between fundamental phenomena and material properties and performances.
- Knowledge of numerical methods to solve partial differential equations (finite element, finite difference, FFT, …).
- Skills in developing professional scientific software are of advantage.
- Fluent English, French not mandatory but if advantage.
We Offer:
- Interesting R&D opportunity in the field of multi scale modelling.
- Join a highly skilled team mostly composed of Ph.Ds in mechanics, material science, aeronautics, applied mathematics and physics.
- Learn new numerical methods.
- Work in a professional software development team and environment.
- Possibility to shape new trends in the field of battery development.
- Hybrid home-office scheme possibilities.
