Functie
  • Development of LED Lamps and Luminaires for Special Lighting Applications;
  • Build prototypes, test and draw conclusions, report on the results, and write technical specifications;
  • Supervise progression of new product developments into manufacturing and solve startup problems;
  • Co-operation with product management for the conception of new product ideas;
  • Manage technical contacts with end customers to align product designs with application requirements;
  • Work with suppliers to develop products externally meeting design expectations;
  • Maintain awareness of key commercial developments and academic research in the field;
  • Where necessary work with external partners for implementation of new technologies into products;
  • Hands-on skills to measure own prototypes in the lab, evaluate results and formulate conclusions.
Functie-eisen
  • Graduate in Engineering or Science, preferably with optical / electrical / materials background or similar by experience;
  • 5 years work experience in related industrial environment or academia;
  • Able to independently organise his/her work;
  • Works in a structured fashion and thinks analytically;
  • Understands the importance of project timings and able to prioritise work to meet given deadlines;
  • Sets challenging objectives and is committed to working in a team environment to realise these goals;
  • A willingness to perform hands-on practical tasks to support the design work is essential;
  • Flexible, effective and efficient in reacting to unforeseen technical circumstances / problem solving;
  • Able to draw logical conclusions from own work and write professional reports on the findings;
  • Able to work in a global environment, and efficiently communicate technical data to management;
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office;
  • Knowledge and experience in Design of Experiments, SPC, FMEA or computer modelling beneficial;
  • Confidence and competence to be placed before our customers and act on behalf of the company;
  • A good knowledge of English is a must and a working knowledge of Dutch is a very nice plus.
