Senior Associate

Our client has an immediate opening for a bright, hard-working individual to join our team as a Senior Associate in its Luxembourg office.

The firm is one of the largest global alternative investment firms in the world, with total assets under management ("AUM") of more than $108 million. The Firm operates a global alternative investment platform that encompasses private equity, private credit, real estate, and public equity. While private equity continues to be the group’s largest asset class, representing approximately 80% of AUM, its development of complementary investing businesses allows a further extension of its capability set. These businesses drive synergies in terms of a broader sourcing network, access to a diverse capital base, and additional touch-points with companies at varying stages of growth in all geographies.

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to be an integral part of a team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment. The position is responsible for in-house accounting and oversight of third-party service providers that perform the accounting and certain corporate and other activities for the company special purpose vehicles (SPVs) domiciled in and outside of Luxembourg. This person will also be involved in cash management, deal closing and operational matters affecting the SPVs.

In your role, your responsabilities are:

• In charge of the day to day book keeping of internally managed SPVs
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and financial statements under US GAAP, Lux GAAP and IFRS
• Prepare cash reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations
• Work with Fund Operations on cash management across the SPV structures
• Assist the team with the expense reporting and analysis and the relationship with the company’s centralized accounts payable function
• Assist with the coordination of the statutory audit process and respond to questions from auditors
• Assist with the coordination of various compliance reports, including Corporate Income Tax and VAT returns, FATCA, Common Reporting Standard
• Assist with various operational matters as they arise. (e.g. board meetings, financial instrument movements deal closings/exits)
• Making recommendations to improve processes and internal controls
• Identify and help solve critical local accounting, reporting, and operational issues
• Assist on special projects and other ad hoc tasks as they arise
• Develop and maintain strong relationship with third-party service providers and regulators, as appropriate

Your qualifications are :

• Professional certification and have min 3 years accounting experience in a combination of public accounting (either audit or tax), general private practice, or another private equity or investment management firm.
• Familiarity with alternative investments, private equity and partnership accounting, fund administration, and accounting systems are a plus.
• Strong accounting and excel skills. Investran knowledge is beneficial
• Excellent English is required; business fluency in French and/or German would be an advantage
• Strong understanding and application of various accounting rules and industry accounting practices.
• Detail-oriented, responsible and proactive.
• Deadline-oriented to meet time-sensitive regulatory and contractual requirements.
• Adept at problem solving and the ability to react to new situations and deal with them
