Our development areas encompass novel targets in neurologic disorders, gastroenterology, oncology, infectious disease, diabetes, hematology, metabolic disorders, immunologic disorders, pulmonary hypertension and reproductive medicine. The successful candidate will be employed in our Analytical Development (AD) organization, responsible for all analytical activities in CMC (Chemistry Manufacturing & Controls) development.

The (Senior) Scientist will join the Advanced Material Characterization and Investigations (AMCI) group within AD.

AMCI is an international and diverse multidisciplinary team of scientists performing advanced analytical characterization of drug products. They are leading analytical investigations for commercial and R&D portfolio.

The Advanced Molecular Analysis (AMA) team of AMCI is a group of analytical centres of excellence in structure elucidation (by high-resolution Mass Spectrometry and NMR), organic trace analysis, excipient & polymer characterization, and oligonucleotide & peptide analytics.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated (Senior) Scientist to join our AMA team! For this laboratory-based position, you will work together with internal and external specialists in drug product development and analytical development teams, to find innovative approaches for the in-depth (bio)chemical characterization of macromolecule-based therapeutics and excipients used in the context of complex drug delivery systems, including novel oral drug delivery modalities, long-acting injectables and liposomes. In this role, you will also support analytical investigations for commercial and R&D portfolio. The position is based in Antwerp, Belgium.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strengthen our chemical expertise within the AMA group in Beerse.
  • Design, lead and perform (bio)chemical characterizations of macromolecule-based therapeutics (e.g. peptides, oligonucleotides) and excipients (e.g. enzymes, phospholipids).
  • Apply state-of–the art scientific knowledge to ensure high quality of the delivered results.
