About the Unit
The VAT Technology Manager will manage and drive projects to ensure that the YEU VAT processes are compliant to the EMEA countries announced electronic real time reporting requirements.
The successful candidate will be part of the Indirect Tax team which is responsible for all indirect tax matters across the EMEA region. The team focuses on 5 main areas: Projects & Planning, Business Support, ERP Implementation & Processes, Compliance & Reporting and Customs.
The overall purpose is to play a crucial role in the Indirect Tax set-up of the ERP systems and implementation and coordination of Indirect Tax processes throughout the EMEA region. The Manager will lead a team of two VAT Technology experts.
Responsibilities
- Manage EMEA projects regarding e-invoicing/e-filing/archiving/scanning and ensure good planning of the different projects with the VAT technology team
- Manage the team to provide/coordinate/support the development/maintenance of automation tools relevant to the internal controls, ICFR contols and policies to minimize VAT exposure
- Manage the team to ensure proper VAT logic and coding in the YSAP ERP systems across the EMEA region
- Manage the team supporting the VAT configuration in the Yara Europe ERP: arrange coordination and assistance to VAT related changes in YSAP system and/or VAT supporting tools
- Manage the team to ensure VAT relevant legislation changes are implemented in end-to-end process
- Liase and co-ordinate with VAT director to initiate next steps and possible new strategies for the EMEA region
- Search the market for suppliers, be the driving and deciding party on the technology and digitalisation
- Manage the team in the design and the implementation of indirect tax processes
- Ensure that the team provides targeted, relevant training to Business, Shared Service and Tax Function employees
Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance or Tax with focus on Finance and/or Accounting
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
- Proven project management skills and track record of sucessful project outcomes
- Basic knowledge of VAT and the accounting principles and related procedures
- Practical advanced experience with ERP systems, including SAP, proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint)
- Team player with a positive ’can do’ attitude
- Personal initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions for challenges and obstacles
- High level communication, problem solving, organizational, planning skills
- Ability to work ethically and with full integrity when making time sensitive or difficult decisions

- Operational language: English
- This position can be based anywhere in Europe where Yara office is located
- Some infrequent travel required
