We are looking for an exceptional and seasoned Public Affairs’ leader, to drive the PA team in Europe, with specific focus on the European Union, Brussels, and the UK.The position is a full-time, home-office position; based in Brussels, Belgium. TIPA’s HQ is based in Israel. Commute will be required, both within Europe and to Israel. It reports to a C level member, at TIPA’s Executive Management team.
Positions’ Overview:
Use significant experience of leading teams, partners, and alliances to shape and deliver the public affairs mission, set challenging objectives, and secure positive results which create market growth opportunities for TIPA.
Responsibilities:
- Establish a network of stakeholders and collaborators across Europe to support government affairs objectives
- Develop and execute a European corporate and government affairs’ strategic plan
- Develop and lead the European corporate and government affairs’ team and its retained public affairs agencies
- Anticipate and monitor the development of issues that affect the company
- Lead in identifying, liaising, and working with relevant associations and building effective alliances with appropriate stakeholders
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving government affairs’ priorities
- Wide ranging brief across the region to ensure effective government affairs and stakeholder interventions, to protect and promote TIPA’s commercial agenda.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, MA and or MBA is preferable
- Seniority and credibility in front of internal and external stakeholders
- Minimum 15+ years of relevant professional experience, of which at least 10 - in a corporate leadership position.
- Strong communications skills - listening, influence, negotiation, persuasion, and counsel to other internal leaders on corporate and government affairs issues and opportunities
- High level of business acumen - a student of business able to understand and connect government affairs to relevant business issues
- Exceptional consultative skills - delivering relevant insight grounded in data, analysis, and experience
- Pioneering and entrepreneurial mindset
- Agile, effective operator with a track record of achieving ambitious goals in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments
- Demonstrable success of PA activity in Brussels
- Working experience in the packaging, food, or plastics industry- is an advantage.
- A global mind-set with proven aptitude to work in a multicultural/multilingual environment, and a keen interest in environmental and sustainability issues – languages a distinct advantage
- Existing network of business, political and bureaucratic links
- Residence in Brussels is highly preferable.
Outputs/KPIs:
- Formalize the PA department’s EU & UK mission, strategy, objectives, and action plan
- Engage with key policymakers within Brussels and other key states in Europe to support leading a traceable positive alliance with TIPA’s mission
- Utilise wider engagement within a broad network of stakeholders and opinion leaders, to shape the positioning of the company and its relevant business sector, within key decision makers in the political and business arena
- Shape and execute a broad communication and messaging plan aligned to TIPA’s PA needs.
