Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week between 06:00 and 20:30 rotating weekly.

Position Summary:
  • Packaging preparation.
  • Process shipments that pass through the World Courier warehouse facility at Zaventem quickly and efficiently whilst paying attention to detail.
  • Keep a close watch on stock levels and inform Supervisor/ Team Lead if running low.
  • Temperature recorder handling.
  • Communicating with other departments to ensure shipment deadlines are met.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload vehicles, utilising the correct equipment to do so.
  • Verify deliveries upon receipt.
  • Keep records of temperature in cold storage rooms (fridges, freezers and controlled ambient rooms).
  • Manage cold storage materials and supplies (gel packs, dry ice,… ).
  • Prepare packaging for collections by reading pick-up instructions from jobs.
  • Program temperature recorders and prepare the temperature record forms.
  • Ensure that the warehouse remains clean and tidy – inside and out – at all times, including cold storage rooms.
  • Separate each not approved wooden pallet.
  • Where necessary - replenish dry ice.
  • Where necessary - replenish gel packs correctly, paying attention to the packaging diagrams.
  • Cleaning and record keeping of multiple use packaging material.
  • Report any shipments that arrive into the Warehouse that may have been damaged in transit.
  • Ensure the premises are secure, by keeping shutters in place and challenging anyone without a valid World Courier I.D or visitors pass.
  • Keep the fire exits clear of obstructions.
In view of the above, the Warehouse Controller must acquire basic or advantage knowledge and or skills to properly use/work with:
  • Company owned programs ( TMS, Xact, EVO, OceaSoft, Alterix, Cubbixx)
  • Other computer programs ( MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel,…)
  • Various equipment:
  • Phones, computers and printer, Temperature recorders ( equipment and read-out programs).
  • Freezers and fridges
  • Therma boxes, gel packs and dry ice.
What your background should look like
Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Fluent in French or Dutch and English (Essential)
  • Experience of working in related warehouse environment – for example freight forwarding and/or pharmaceutical.
  • GDP compliance and pharmaceutical logistics experience preferred.
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Self motivated and uses own initiative.
  • Remains calm under pressure.
  • Flexible attitude – for working shifts and last minute coverage.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritise workload, which may change throughout the day.
  • Friendly, polite, dependable, reliable and trustworthy.
