TheDirector, Adult Immunization Engagement Lead is a senior leadership role with a strong external focus which will work on generating impactful ideas, foster dialogues and articulate strategies to broaden stakeholder engagement and disease protection awareness. This role engages with “new” stakeholders on the field of immunization against vaccine-preventable diseases. The position will also focus on collecting insight to better inform decision-making across the Above Brands strategy. This position reports directly to the “Global Medical Affairs Portfolio Lead, Above Brands and medical Education, Vaccines”.
Your responsibilities:
You will:
- Drive the development and implementation of strategic scientific engagements, partnerships and interdisciplinary platforms to better understand new perspectives, needs and barriers from “new vaccination stakeholders”. These groups are associated to the concept of immunization against vaccine-preventable diseases and may include, Healthcare Professionals, Public Health and Governmental Authorities, disease-specific patient organizations, community-based organizations and the general public.
- Develop data-driven messaging, thought leadership and creative medical strategies to communicate the value of immunization and disease protection awareness to “new vaccination stakeholders”, to address potential gaps leveraging various sources of medical information and to ensure long-term sustainability of harmonized and innovative outcomes, initiatives and/or solutions.
- Facilitate “new vaccination stakeholders” input and immunization perspectives across the Above Brands Medical Plan through partnering with a complex set of global, regional and local internal partners including Global and Local Medical Affairs, Market Access, Governmental Affairs, Clinical Operations, Value Evidence Lead, Patient Centered Outcomes, Medical Insights, and externally with key stakeholders including news and confirmed vaccinators, patient organizations, Public Health Authorities and the general public.
- Accountable for the medical alignment of “new vaccination stakeholder” engagement activities across the Above Brands Medical and acting as the conduit of information to connect other Vaccine Brands.
- Support aligned research and facilitate internal and external scientific communications associated with new vaccination stakeholder networks.
- Build expert/consultancy panels consisting of new vaccination stakeholders, PAGs and related advocates and partner with key vendors/third party suppliers and creative agencies to ensure any insights generated are utilized/leveraged during internal decision-making processes throughout the Above Brands Strategy life-cycle.
- Partner across therapeutic areas to effectively link and share knowledge with colleagues and teams across the GSK enterprise on common customer priorities, methodologies and approaches to meet specific business objectives.
- Develop thought-leadership messaging for GSK external spokespersons at industry and conference events (including leadership panels) by highlighting our partnerships and accomplishments in this important area of vaccine development.
- Identify new vaccinators engagement risks and proactively lead their effective mitigation in collaboration with other members of GMA and other relevant teams.
- Accountable for ensuring plans and activities are implemented in a manner that is compliant with Scientific Engagement principles, GSK’s Code of Practice and GSK values.
- Ensures that all communications are scientifically accurate, balanced, remain aligned with the strategy, and compliant to applicable laws and regulations.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training
- Knowledge of the relevant therapeutic area
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- At least 10 years in pharmaceutical industry, acquired through global or Regional/Local Medical Affairs or non-Medical Affairs relevant functional areas: Regulatory affairs, Clinical, epidemiology, market access, discovery
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for effectively interfacing with all levels of management and departments within the company
- Exemplary relationship building and influencing skills – with adaptability to the stakeholder environment (internal and external)
- Ability to define the medical affairs and market access strategy and constructively interact cross-functionally to build project strategy
- Business acumen acquired through non-Medical Affairs relevant functional areas (Commercial, Gov Aff, Market Access, R&D)
- Work in a collaborative and compassionate manner with a various set of stakeholders (internal and external)
- Self-motivated, and self-confident with the ability to act with urgency
- Ability to make thoughtful, integrated, timely and meaningful decisions and take corresponding actions
- Strong interpersonal skills, and exemplary communication, relationship building and influencing skills, with adaptability to the stakeholder environment
- Deep knowledge of the drug/vaccine development processes
- Strategic and creative thinking, leadership, and negotiation skills
- Process management, operations, policies and strategy development experience
- Demonstrated results in and execution of plans in collaboration with internal colleagues and external partners.
