Purpose of the position:
Digital transformation is crucial for our client to achieve their ambitions for the coming years.
Within IT the architecture team plays an important role to enable this digital transformation.
The team covers all aspects of architecture.
Tasks and responsibilities
You will be positioned as department lead, own intellectual thought leadership and have operational architecture responsibility. You will lead the architecture team(s) in IT. You will help your teams flourish through thought leadership, team mentoring and business development. Stakeholders will seek your advice on business issues that extend beyond the immediate scope of your work. You will directly report into the Chief Information Officer.
Defining, Developing & Designing
  • Supporting enterprise strategy and lean portfolio management as the the lead Enterprise Architect role and act as the owner for all technology enablers
  • Fulfill a neutral role in modelling the strategic business capabilities and translating that into digital capabilities
  • Managing IT Architectural debt, Architecture governance and evolution in practice by analyzing and challenging the complex IT application landscapes across the group
  • Road-mapping and business case development of the current as-is and to-be business models and capabilities for the various value-streams of our client.
  • Defining architectural principles and enforce that using policies and development guidelines.
  • Microservices topologies, including operational policies concerns such as resiliency, observability, discovery and routing, security and Quality assurance.
  • Designing State of the art IT technologies which allow high automation and standardization by Identifying and driving non-trivial technology decisions in line with market trends and best practices
  • Strong execution on Roadmap toward vision in a lean and pragmatic way
- Translate roadmaps into measurable goals and objectives to increase the maturity of processes, organization, information and systems to the required level, with focus on value creation, customer experience, risk- and cost control.
  • Participate in the large IT purchases and advise based on the EA principles, experience and trends.
Leading & Managing
  • Lead the architecture team (around 10-15 people)
  • Optimizing the internal IT processes, specifically architecture and solution design
Building community
  • Driving architectural thought leadership in the organization and be the spokesperson for the IT4IT valuestream
  • Advising internal colleagues on architectural concepts and frameworks
  • Advising fellow architects
  • Building a strong cross functional people network and community, whilst actively engaging business and to become the trusted advisor in all architectural matters
  • Support the agile transformation by actively promoting the architecture role in SAFe®
  • Develop the architectural team towards an advisory and well trusted team

You are goal-oriented, quality-driven and a strategic thinker who is able to approach and evaluate business issues in a broader context and translate that into technology enablers . You always know how to reduce these complex issues to their essence and you also have the communication skills to communicate clearly and simply about this, at all levels of the organization, up to the executive committee. Comfortable with storytelling about architectural building blocks, architectural patterns and their importance. Finally, it is important that you can work independently and formulate neutral advice.
We’re looking for someone with several years of experience with Enterprise Architecture.
Also a good knowledge of the Dutch & French language is important for this role.
