About DIGITALEUROPE

DIGITALEUROPE is the leading trade association representing digitally transforming industries in Europe. We stand for a regulatory environment that enables European businesses and citizens to prosper from digital technologies. We wish Europe to grow, attract and sustain the world’s best digital talents and technology companies.

Together with our members, we shape the industry policy positions on all relevant legislative matters and contribute to the development and implementation of relevant EU policies. Our membership represents over 35,000 businesses who operate and invest in Europe. It includes 91 corporations which are global leaders in their field of activity, as well as 39 national trade associations from across Europe.

About the role

Our DIGITALEUROPE vision is for Europe to embrace digital in climate action, to bring benefits in the broadest sense to society at large and to continue its global leadership by collaborating with our international partners. We strongly believe that we must look at digital and climate action together, rather than separate policy areas.

Our Green Deal Working Group is working on a range of policy areas and engages at various levels to raise awareness about the twin transition and to provide recommendations on how to accelerate it.

The twin transition is hampered by the lack of a standardised framework for measuring the sustainability potential enabled by digital technologies. We believe that to boost the uptake of digital technologies for the green transition there is a need for consistent and comparable assessment methods.

As the leading trade association in the field of digital technologies and digitalising industries, we are looking for a motivated, pro-active candidate who is full of ideas that can help drive the organisation forward. You will join a dynamic, diverse, fun, and respectful international work environment with opportunities to further grow and develop.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Drive DIGITALEUROPE’s thought leadership and high-level engagement on the twin transition.
  • Oversee the work of the Green Deal Working Group and coordinate with other relevant working groups.
  • Drive consensus in the group and support in the development of position papers and other materials, including research and analysis.
  • Be on top of EU policy developments of relevance.
  • Prepare and implement outreach and communication activities, build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Work together with relevant stakeholders to contribute to the ongoing standardisation efforts to measure the sustainability potential enabled by digital technologies at European and international standards development organisations (CEN, CENELEC, ETSI, ISO, IEC, ITU).
  • Oversee our project on data centres, the key integral enablers of the green transition in Europe.

Required competencies and skills

  • Ability to lead teams working with policy
  • Expert on the EU Green Deal and ideally on the link with digital
  • Understanding of code of conducts and/or standards
  • Master-level university education with 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Established network with EU decision-makers and key stakeholders
  • Proven track record of driving thought-leadership and public speaking
  • Strong integrity and the ability to be a good facilitator handling different views
  • Self-driven and organised
