Abbott is recruiting an Events & Communication Specialist to be based in our EMEA Headquarter in Zaventem, Belgium.
Reporting to the EMEA Marketing Manager, the Event & Communication Specialist will provide leadership and support in organizing and managing the production of events and congress activities from conception to completion. The Events & Communication Specialist will also have a key role in producing content and materials for successful product launches, campaigns, and congress and events strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for organizing and managing EMEA events and congress activities in line with the EMEA Electrophysiology strategy. Planning, coordinating, executing, and implementing all project delivery elements within time limits and budget.
Act as a liaison between the EMEA Marketing Manager (project lead), internal stakeholders, external organization (if applicable), vendors and participants.
In collaboration with marketing communications teams ensure that all aspects of each project reflect the Abbott brand, theme, and positioning
If applicable, collaborate with local country teams on planning of local meetings and conferences.
Conduct pre- and post – event evaluations and report on outcomes
Support multi-channel communications & marketing strategies, as well as sales enabling campaigns to support the commercialization of Abbott solutions for the Electrophysiology division.
Partner and collaborate with outside agencies/vendors to ensure initiatives meet expectations.
Collaborate closely with peers in Marketing and Marketing Communications (both global and regional); Project Management, Operations, Digital, Brand, Congresses & Events, Creative Services, Public Relations to align on product launches, campaigns, process, strategies, best practices, and efficiencies.
Supervises and/or coaches Marketing Communication contractors, vendors and other staff.
Support initiatives to strategically develop and deploy content across multiple channels, especially measurable digital channels.
Your Profile:
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing or similar
5+ years working experience with similar responsibilities in the environment of preferably a larger multinational company within the medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare business or similar at a communication agency, with good business understanding.
Experience working with a global brand.
Interest in health care is a plus.
Proven strong project management skills
Proactive personality, thinking through all aspects of a project and managing it accordingly.
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment and be capable of juggling multiple priorities and many demanding stakeholders with minimal supervision.
Interested in a sales/commercial environment and understanding how sales are enabled through Marketing Communications.
Able to apply strategic thinking, as well as attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written English communications skills with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
Willingness to travel (20%)
