Job Purpose
As we are improving our Enterprise (ERM) efforts by shaping an integrated, globally aligned framework, we are setting up a dedicated Risk Management function in which you will be the first full time team mate. As Risk Manager EMIA, you will play an important role in the continuous improvement of Bridgestone’s global ERM framework and will be pivotal for its implementation in our EMIA strategic business unit.
You will partner closely with many functional stakeholders both regionally and globally to help identify key enterprise risks and drive the development of risk response strategies to support and protect the execution of our regional and global strategies. You will report to the VP Legal, Compliance and Internal Audit, Chief Risk Officer.
In addition, you will work with all business units and functions to create and maintain an actionable, risk based, and proactive business continuity program.
Main Responsibilities
- Global ERM and Business Continuity Management (BCM) frameworks : Participation in a global working group, to continuously improve Bridgestone’s global ERM, BCM, Integrated Risk Management (IRM) frameworks.
- EMIA ERM: Deployment and management of the global ERM program in EMIA, including:
- Administration and facilitation of risk identification and assessment activities with top functional and business unit leaders and maintenance of the EMIA Risk Universe
- Supporting EMIA risk owners in the development, monitoring and reporting of their risk response actions
- Supporting the global risk owners in the monitoring and reporting of the risk response actions taken in EMIA.
- EMIA BCM: Deployment and management of the global BCM program in EMIA, including:
- Development and maintenance of the EMIA BCM policies and procedures based on the global BCM program
- Driving and assisting EMIA business functions and units in their development and implementation of key BCM components, including scenario building, risk evaluation and Business Impact Assessment (BIA), mitigation strategies, Business Continuity Planning (BCP), testing, etc.
- Measurement of EMIA compliance with the BCM framework
- Development of potential scenarios for BCM exercise
- EMIA IRM: Building a working group of key EMIA risk managing functions to identify best ways to align and further integrate EMIA risk management activities
- Development and deployment of a coherent EMIA risk management Policy and Standards
- Driving the implementation of this EMIA Policy and Standards by EMIA functions
- Driving and assisting less mature EMIA functions to close the gap between the current and expected risk management standards.
- Quality Control, Risk Response Follow Up and Reporting, Culture Building, Training. Developing and implementing such initiatives for the overall EMIA risk management, including for the ERM, BCM and IRM.
- Other responsibilities
Requirements
- Masters degree from a reputable university;
- 6+ years of experience in risk management related activities in complex multinational organizations or international consultancy;
- Fluency in speech and writing in English and at least one other major European language;
- Ability to use business, financial and strategic acumen to:
- Develop natural authority to support and monitor the risk management performance of EMIA leaders, managers, and functional risk management champions;
- Summarize and interpret risk reports from different departments;
- Quickly understand the various functional and departmental requirements;
- Ability to adjust your thinking and quickly change priorities with agility;
- Meet changing deadlines while still producing high-quality work;
- Good communication, presentation and influencing skills, including the ability to:
- Interact with and engage various audiences at varying seniority levels;
- Transmit messages with clarity;
- Interpret and understand the mindsets of the listeners;
- Good drafting and presentation skills in English to:
- Deliver high quality presentations to top leaders;
- Write or amend policies and guidelines;
- Maintain a risk register using concise yet informative language;
- Project management skills;
- Risk management certifications, e.g., RIMS, CRMA will be a plus.
