Job Description

The equipment engineer is responsible for the maintenance activities of a specific set of Fab tools. In a context where continuous improvement is a critical success factor, the equipment engineer is always looking for opportunities to make the maintenance plan more efficient and cost-effective, while guaranteeing the required equipment performance in terms of quality and availability. Evidently, there will be a close cooperation with production organization and process engineering. The equipment engineer is part of Fab Operations in Oudenaarde and reports to the HIVAC division manager.

The Equipment Engineer has the following key responsibilities:
  • Supports a safe and clean working environment by using 5S+
  • Follows up equipment performance (availability, quality, cost, …)
  • Supports and trains a team of maintenance technicians working in shifts
  • Defines and executes projects to improve the tool performance, specifically on topics such as equipment availability, Uptime, MTBF, MTTR, OEE, quality and cost
  • Identifies root causes for complex equipment problems and implements solutions
  • Update and apply documents to improve preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Applies a cost effective spare part management
Qualifications
  • Masters degree in electronics or electro-mechanics or equivalent by experience
  • Have notices of statistical analysis and LEAN manufacturing techniques (SMED, Kaizen, …)
  • Motivated to achieve high quality standards
  • Strong attitude towards achieving results
  • Good team player, collaborate well with other team members
  • Good communication skills, capable to give training and to collaborate with vendors
  • Can-do attitude, stress-resilient, flexible, and dedicated to the job
  • Good knowledge of problem solving techniques
  • In exceptional cases, on call during off hours for the equipment under his/her authority
  • Experience with working in a high-tech environment, such as in the semiconductor industry is an advantage.
