Business Analyst

Function

In the Centre of Excellence, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing one or more applications used in the Infrastructure Department for developing the high-voltage electricity transmission grid with a focus on quality, planning and budget. You are the interface between the business and the IT project manager. This role focuses on the Engineering & Construction applications that are used in the Infrastructure Department. This mainly includes BIM & IEC61850 Applications, Design Applications (Autodesk, Bentley, etc.) and Quality Applications.

Among other things, you will:

• support a long-term vision with regard to the use of Engineering & Construction Tools in the Infrastructure Department to assist the business as effectively and efficiently as possible.
• provide the appropriate analyses to the business to help them to make the appropriate decisions, and to IT Governance to efficiently deploy tools in the application landscape;

for each allocated application:

• monitor the business operationally of the application;
• analyse and manage maintenance tickets (bugs and support);
• analyse, support and approve changes to the application as a result of ongoing maintenance and/or enterprise projects (enterprise performance management (EPM)) and so monitor the long-term vision of the application;
• ensure business support for the application by managing and communicating the appropriate business documentation;

for each allocated project:

• take part in defining the scope.
• help the business to define the ’to-be’ business processes;
• model business processes and the IT tools to support them, and guidelines for using these tools;
• devise context diagrams, business domain models and user stories/use cases;
• write specifications for the applications and have them validated by the business, and prioritise these changes in various releases;
• challenge the business regarding their needs and ’to-be’ processes;
• validate the functional analysis of IT and challenge the proposed solution;
• work with the business – after development by IT – to test and validate changes and then have them deployed;
• stay in contact with the business, IT and other Business Analysts;
• provide all the required material to successfully complete the deployment phase for the solution.
  

Your Profile

• You have a master’s degree in business analysis or a technical or economic subject, or equivalent experience.
• You have at least five years’ experience as a business analyst.
• You are preferably IREB-certified and if you are not, you are willing to obtain this certification.
• Experience of using the Enterprise Architect tool would be a plus.
• You are at home with IT tools and are interested in the electricity sector.
• You are fluent in Dutch and French; English would be an asset.
• You have a highly analytical and critical mindset.
• You have strong problem-solving skills.
• You can communicate assertively and effectively with many different stakeholders.
• You are adept at planning and organisation and can work independently.
• You are customer-oriented and flexible.
