Job Summary

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join the global Product Development and Innovation (PD&I) team within Wolters Kluwer to take over product owner responsibilities within a dynamic, global environment.

The Vision program is a key strategic initiative to create the future of all research products in Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory. In its final state it will host products of several 100m Euro revenue and serve around 500.000 customers. We are rethinking research and reshape the way our customers are interacting with information whenever and wherever they need them, exactly fitting their needs. As Business Analyst you are responsible for capturing insights in the business requirements and user needs and translate them into user stories together with the technical experts and the development team. You support the team’s product owner in decision making by providing deep insights in the problems and solutions that are being discussed.

Your special scope of responsibilities will be in the content services / content transformation team. The team has the task to provide content in the right format to the research product. Typically, the source format is a semi-standardized input from various content management systems that needs to be run through different content transformations and packaged in a standardized way to be ingested in the target application. In this area you need to develop a deep understanding of the content structures that are involved and how they need to be processed. Additionally, you will work with multiple product owners and stakeholders from other teams to identify new content needs and how the content services team can enhance the content to deliver more value to the product.

Tasks And Responsibilities
  • Support the product owner with decision making
  • Deep dive on problems and provide options on ways to progress the product
  • Participate in review meetings and understand and challenge ideas and views of stakeholders to be in line with product objectives
  • Make sure that customer perspectives are holistically respected when implementing new features
  • Define business rules from a deep understanding of the behaviour of the system
  • Create user stories
  • Refine backlog items together with the product owner and the development team
  • Ensure that user stories are ready for development
Your profile
  • Academic degree
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in agile projects as Business Analyst with good knowledge of agile methods and tools
  • Good understanding of user processes / process-oriented thinking
  • Good knowledge of semantic structures or (computer) linguistics is beneficial
  • Strong customer focus
  • Agile mindset
  • With your strong communication skills and empathy, you are able to work in an agile development team and provide the right input to reach exceptional results
  • You are solution-oriented, have a hands-on mentality and enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams
  • Developed personal responsibility, communication and coordination skills, social competence
  • Very good/excellent English language skills
