We are seeking for a Business Controller to join our Business Controlling team supporting Business Area Customer Brands.

Customer Brands are evolving from a well-established Tex-Mex private label provider to the trusted and preferred customer brands partner by building organization capability. Strong consumer, shopper and customer understanding differentiates us from competition, as we advise our key strategic customers on the way forward. To further support our growth journey, we are now hiring a commercial Business controller to strengthen the commercial Retail Central/Northern Europe & RoW Cluster within the Customer Brands organization.

You will partner with the commercial teams to provide financial and business support. In this key role, you will be instrumental in driving sustainable, profitable growth and enhancing business performance.

By delivering insights, financial analyses, and actionable recommendations to improve business performance, you will contribute to Paulig’s vision of becoming one of the fastest growing profitable food and beverage companies in Europe and a sustainable frontrunner in our industry.

This position is permanent and located in Roeselare, Belgium and report to Head of Business Controlling, Customer Brands.

What you will do:

Finance Business partnering:

  • Provide full margin analysis for key stakeholders in respect of new tenders, new customers & new product developments.
  • Active role in strategic pricing process in co-operation with respective roles in Category management, product portfolio management and Sales.
  • Customer margin management by monitoring variance between coverage and actuals in respect of discounts & cost to serve components (outbound freight & warehousing).
  • Work collaboratively with other functions, including Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing, to drive cross-functional initiatives and improve financial performance.
  • Identify risks and opportunities to the business and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Follow up on (yearly) tenders’ status & safeguarding the commercial strategy
  • Support the head of Business Controlling & other senior leaders & stakeholders with ad-hoc financial analysis & projects when required.

Reporting and planning:

  • Analyzing month-end result and clarify deviations in main Income Statement drivers with strong focus on forecast accuracy.
  • Coordinate the monthly Latest Estimate & Yearly plan process to generate a commitment to Plan with a viable link between business activities and Financial targets
  • Continuously challenge & improve financial processes to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Act as key user in testing sales controlling related setups with regards to the new Paulig Group business transformation Horizon project.

What we expect from you:

  • Master degree in Finance, Controlling or relevant through experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial finance/controlling role
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data
  • Thorough and precise
  • Result orientated and "problem solving"
  • Pro-active approach & positive mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across other functions/stakeholders
  • Team player
  • Strong organizer & good Project management skills
  • Experience in working with ERP system and Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, …)
  • Advanced skills in MS office
  • Fluent in English and local language
