A global leader in the logistics sector has an interesting new opportunity available as Business Controller for the Antwerp region. You will support this fast-growing business unit and you will play an essential role between accounting and controlling.

Your main tasks as Business Controller includes:

  • You’ll operate in the Finance team as the wing(wo)man of the Business Unit Controller;
  • You will meet colleagues from different departments and other stakeholders, and build an internal network;
  • Translate different reporting packs;
  • Preparing, analyzing and further developing relevant financial and operational reports;
  • Defining reporting structures and KPIs in consultation with the operational teams;
  • Reviewing and optimizing financial flows and procedures;
  • Coordinating, supporting and/or executing internal control activities and audits;
  • Project-based accounting support in the context of M&A and restructuring;
  • Support and guidance in the implementation of new software;
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts;
  • Working on different finance related tasks and projects mostly based in Belgium, but occasionally also abroad;
  • You will report directly to the Business Unit Controller.

Profile for this Business Controller position:

  • Master’s degree in finance or related;
  • 3 to 8 years of experience in an accounting or controlling role, preferably in an international setting;
  • Likes a challenge and knows how to translate complex topics in an organized and concise manner;
  • Combines economic and tax knowledge with a thorough analytical insight;
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels;
  • Able to work both independently and in teams;
  • Willing to occasionally travel abroad;
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch and French is an asset;
  • IT minded with solid understanding of Excel;
  • Works on a strategic level and is solution-oriented, but is not afraid to roll up his/her sleeves if necessary.
