Building on our successful base, in 2018 we completed a $50 million expansion of our clinical facilities with more improvements planned for 2021 and beyond.The Critical Care Unit (CCU) is one of the best-designed acute care facilities in the state, combining Intensive and High-Dependency Care. Consisting of 18 centrally monitored beds, the medical and nursing staff within CCU provide care for patients undergoing major surgery such as cardiothoracic and robotic procedures or those requiring high level medical care.
About The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care Unit (CCU) in the role of Clinical Nurse. This role will perform an important leadership role within the Unit by assisting with the promotion of a culture of clinical excellence based on person centred care. The Clinical Nurse will provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff, whilst assisting the Clinical Manager to effectively coordinate the team to deliver superior outcomes for our patients.
Other Key Responsibilities Include
- Delivering and monitoring day-to-day nursing practice in line with clinical standards, policies and procedures;
- Assisting the Clinical Manager to monitor and manage the performance of nursing staff within the work area, including mentoring and coaching others, and contributing to their ongoing professional education;
- Liaising with Medical Officers and other medical professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and care;
- Contributing to initiatives and projects that improve patient care.
In this role you will be given the chance to grow and enhance your capability within a highly supportive environment through one-on-one mentoring and coaching, as well as a range of in-house leadership development programs.
Hours
Hours are negotiable however the position will work a minimum of 60 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE) across a flexible 14 day roster, including a combination of early, late and night shifts.
About You
This role would suit a Registered Nurse with at least 4 years’ relevant and recent acute clinical experience, and demonstrated leadership qualities. Post graduate qualifications in Critical Care are essential for this position, as is current nursing registration with AHPRA.
